Actually, this is quite different. In the case of KK, those rumors happened while the leadership of the company didn't change. Sure, they swapped Bob's at CEO twice, but they really had the same philosophy regarding KK. In this case Paramount has been bought and it's a whole new leadership team. Generally, when that happens, the new leadership wants to bring in a lot of their own people to run things, especially something as important as Star Trek. I'd say this has a much greater chance of happening than KK getting fired, unless Kurtzman has some legal card to play with his contract.

The only way Lower Decks can get going again is if they UNcancel it. Remember, SciTrek prior videos on the cancellation was possibly due to Skydance wanting to take Star Trek in a direction away from animation.

@@vegeta50024 plenty of shows have been uncancelled. If Nimoy had still been available for Spock, CBS was ready to pick up Star Trek for a fourth season.

The best show of this star trek era is a cartoon. Probably had the least involvement of Kurtzman.

I love season two of "Star Trek: Prodigy," to be honest. I binged it on. Netflix a week and a day ago. #BestCanadaDayEVER! Though, I'm ready for another new era of "Star Trek" under the stewardship of anyone who understands the franchise from the get-go. Believe it or not, David Ellison is a huge Trekkie.

*_Prodigy_* was canceled by Paramount+ after its first season. It's unlikely to have a third, but not impossible. *_Section 31_* was turned into a movie, unlikely it becomes a series. However, Kurtzman loves torture. *_Starfleet Academy_* is the next Kurtzman threat that needs to be stopped.

Well honestly don't care about kurtman one way or other do for fans him gone net positive. But don't know Sundance speak much but tend not owning ip might problematic right now but were becomes nightmare honestly love gene family involved maybe writing but overseeing tone as lots things developed depending on fans. Maybe prodigy becomes a niche thing. I know folks crazy orginal trek but not so much dsn and or Voyager and know folks crazy about Voyager want it back, personally feel dsn left plotlines maybe not dsn but star trek proper that never really properly developed. I feel like tng but for Voyager with Jane way back at earth. Maybe Janeway and Dr written in as guidance within the computer with knowledge of Voyager's many years in space. Perhaps second generation of crew on new ship cutting their chops. But think lots for development right hands at controls and biggest star trek at least one show goes 90 year old trekkies to newborns as baseline show perhaps define prodigy as kids version and maybe adults version of kids version. Think legacy or something extends Picard desperately needed. I haven't gotten snw or discovery beginning it's different. And enterprise come back solve Vulcan and humans drama at least once maybe different versions one volucans hate humans for something done to them but perhaps not all Vulcans. Think male crew and female members enterprise got unresolved drama perhaps has dealt with bring balance way left with will they won't they drama just good for trek as wholesome for families we drama but star trek be place crews or individuals were unity. Getting back Sundance thing desperately get up under control from what see much or any plan merchandise etc trek official etc fine official and not but right now IP and merchandise setup nightmare mess similar to MGM studios was inside while paramount more cash on hand they monsters debt figured out. Think Sundance work kiss theory let contract go figure out control of IP and go from there I say because one great fears George Lucas with Star wars and while absolutely perfect think Disney help star wars grow ways Lucas alone might felt comfortable and at least IP from I understand all one spot. Similar to Washington Post amazon didn't really get newspaper but don't second amazon doubted that figure digital form of paper rest figure it self out. Think long term Jeff be extremely happy Washington Post survives and MGM studios catalog survives those major legacy to states long term and get feeling same true MGM studios Amazon might become might Lion in Hollywood. Now I'm uncertain about CBS etc TV stuff with Sundance but fairly certain paramount studio isn't going anywhere as part of Hollywood and family rest easy on legacy. May tv etc drama God only knows but secret hideout simple kiss theory stuff compared figuring out CBS etc. I think Sundance Paramount got figure out kiss theory maybe frist piece massive holding company hold all messy companies bits and give time figure out. But feeling confident that films and paramount studio institution are secure time being. Now what mean Star Trek shows no idea but think new and original generation shows and movies are secure in Sundance hands. But huge everything execution and follow through. To be seen.

Pick and choosing what to focus on with Picard S3 is honestly how you get it in the first place. The whole Picard's body plot point cannot happen without the fact that Picard was put into a synthetic body.

I suspect, but I am guessing, that when they are actually in and looking at hard numbers then they may change direction. It’s easy at this point to have an opinion but when the reality of money comes into it those opinions may change

StNW was renewed for Season 4, but given the way the productions work, SNW Season 4 cannot begin filming until they get done filming Starfleet Academy, which is supposed to start filming next month.

Picard season 3 was much better. SNW is a bit hit and miss but better. I love lower decks. To be honest disco season 5 was okay

​@@short72hp1 That is actually a very good point. People keep saying that there are elements that Secret Hideout owns, but we don't know if that's really the case. Remember that every production that Secret Hideout has done also has CBS studios attacked to it. Paramount owns CBS studios & they license STO out, so I think they still own all of that.

From what I can find, it's going to be a 2 step process, assuming it gets approved. First, Skydance is going to buy out National Amusements, which has control over Paramount. Then, Paramount & Skydance will merge. Ellison said it would be a New Paramount, which means that everything Paramount has now will still be owned, though I remember seeing they are looking to sell of BET. Remember, before Paramount took on its modern name, it WAS ViacomCBS and before that merger, it was just CBS.

[edit] No point wasting money on a show noone wants like ST Academy, We already have Academy stuff going on with Prodigy and this works very well. Star trek section 31 could show all aspects of 31s unofficial acts before and after the birth of the federation, including flashbacks to Enterprise, DS9.

Do you even know WHY Redstone snubbed Sony? Sony & Apollo's plan would have been to chop up Paramount and sell off what they didn't want. They were not interested in the company, they were interested in the franchises that they hold.
