One problem I have with post Voyager era ships is how flat they are. TOS Enterprise had two planes of elevation separated by pylons and the neck in the engineering hull and the Saucer... As a result, you could film great angles that looked interesting... While the flatter designs tend to have everything in shot, that unless the CGI model is super detailed, means you can't get close enough in with the camera and have to film the whole thing on it's singular plane. Basically... If Trek wants to make their camera operators happy, they need to stop making flatter designs for 16:9 ratio TV and bring back that 4:3 ratio that made TOS Enterprise beautiful to film regardless of what angle you approached it from.

Because if you remove it from the context of the copy/paste fleet and just consider the design, I think its a great design for the era its in. The interior is pretty irrelevant to me, especially in the context of the model. It's a post-nemisis era design by Probert (iirc, but one of the classic guys) created back during the Enterprise era that never saw the light of day until Picard. So it really envokes a lot of classic Federation design motifs because it literally is a classic era design. I dont think it's a pure Sovereign class replacement (that would be the Oddessey class), but its got most of the power and function with a fraction of the bulk and construction time. So it's a fantastic workhorse ship for the Federation's arsenal for the 95% of cases that dont require the extra oomph of a Sovereign.
