That's what I liked about Picard Season 3. The right amount of fan service. The only time it got a bit too much fan service for me was when they had to take the Enterprise-D out of storage to go save the day (considering the absolute tactical inefficientcy of the ship in TNG) BUT...I concede there was no other direction it was going to go. You do not reunite the entire cast of TNG and NOT find an excuse to bring back the Enterprise-D. I would have preffered, E (it's a better ship, YOU KNOW I'M RIGHT! DO NOT COME AT ME!) but even I have to concede D is probably more iconic. Additionally, I enjoyed 7 of 9's role in the series (who does'nt enjoy 7 of 9? Jerri Ryan, you still got it!), Raffella (neat way to expand upon how the Federation gets it's intel as well as the friendship she built with Worf, and Star Trek's seedy underworld), Jack (I hope that Q cameo at the end leads to a brand new Star Trek Series), and Shaw (a new captain who was REALLY understandable for me, one who was no less a worthy officer of Star Fleet than his peers in the series, also I thought the actor's performance was on point!). Besides, it's not like it was a prequel that depicted Picard as a child genius who secretly built Data just for the sake of having Data in the prequel for the sake of being self referential.

Fun fact, that this scene was actually an hour long. The poker scene was all improvised, and had so much content of the actors just being their characters. Having a great time. Supposedly they will release the full hour at a later date with the BluRay release.

I really appreciate how this scene shows how much Picard has evolved since the start of TNG. In the begining he would never join the poker game because he wanted to keep his distance, at the end of TNG he trepiditiously asked to join, but now he confidently initiates the game and enjoys playing it with his old crewmates. It's definitely a good way to end his story, even though I feel sad because this is possibly the last time we will ever see them all together on screen.

Jean-Luc Picard was finally able to find what he was seeking. After rediscovering his capacity to do good in his old age with helping refugees, and facing the cause of his fears through his family history, he finally had the courage to reach out to his found family, and found the greatest discovery of all through his son. And he made trillions of souls he never knew smile and cheer from beyond the grave, ending the Borg. Yvette, Robert, and Renee would be smiling upon him.

I know it's the theme from the TNG intro, but it also is the theme that Jerry Goldsmith wrote for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, with several versions played throughout that film. I'm of 1980 vintage, and to me, it's THE Star Trek theme, maybe even more than the original Alexander Courage theme from TOS, and it instantly makes me nostalgic for the 80s and 90s era of Trek... the best of times.

Did they really fix nearly every major issue with TNG had Post "All Good things"? Voyager always was my favorite Trek, with TNG being a very close second. Seeing Seven in her newfound role as a leader in Starfleet and actually having Tuvok present her with her new rank was a fulfilling farewell for me, even if Tom, Harry, the rest of the Crew and especially Janeway were missing. But Sevens arc in discovering who she is and who she wants to be finally seems to be complete, and I am grateful for witnessing that. DS9, although I never got into it as much as the other series does deserve a farewell too, though.

Watch Terry Matalas' interview with Wil Wheaton after the finale aired. This scene actually went on for about 15 minutes. He realized what a historic and beautiful moment it was and just kept the cameras going after the scripted stuff was out of the way. Being possibly the last time the Next Generation cast would all be together like this on a project (Just about everyone at that table is in their 70s, with LeVar Burton being almost at the 70 mark as the youngest and Patrick Stewart being the oldest in his 80s, it turned into just a group of old friends catching up, joking around and having a good time. Whoever is in charge of making the Season 3 DVD/BluRay release needs to have the entire 15 minutes in the bonus features. Also, who didn't have a tear in their eye when they did the final (?) shutdown of the Enterprise-D and Riker says how he missed that voice (Jonathan Frakes did confirm that he made sure the line was in the script, because the whole crew misses Majel Barrett)

Jesus christ man. This is like a movie all on its own!! Possibly the best out of all of them. The start and leave the exact same way. So much sentimental value to this show. So much wisdom. And a lot of them can be applied to right now, even. Timeless. But........love how they pull out everything from the past and put them all here. Even Alice Krige as the Borg Queen!!! Wow. They spared no one. And the little tease at the very end of the movie? Err, I mean series? Poor Jack...... From all the old cast, to the Enterprise D, to the new Enterprise G....wow! Can it get any better? We need a continuation of this! Most of the kickoff happens in Season 3. All the trekkies out there would enjoy this one. What a buildup! I'm telling you, this has so much more than any movie can offer in the history of Star Trek and movies in general. I guess technology and CG has matured and can now make the simplest things happen on the small screen. The original TV Star Trek and even all the TNG, could not duplicate this. Now, anything is possible and boy did they make this a good one.

I don't think anyone has pointed out that when Picard pulls out the playing card, wars first reaction is bowing his head in disappointment because he always loses.

THIS is what offsets what Nemesis failed to deliver. Aside from the crew of NCC-1701(no suffixes), no other crew deserves this sendoff.

Since Star Trek: Picard is finally over, it's time for Sulu to finally get his own solo Star Trek series. The title for Sulu's solo series should be call "Star Trek: Sulu".
