I agree, Christian. This one really is spectacular and they are almost all the way there to perfection on these. And as you mentioned, the only thing that would put it right over the top is if the weathering had some texture or three dimensional feel to it. That being said, it is still miles ahead of the silly weathering they put on the original Boba Fett helmet. That just looked like urban camouflage decals! haha! Well, thank you very much, Matt! And yeah, I agree. They seem to be improving with each new iteration of helmets they produce. This one sure is excellent. The only thing keeping it from being absolutely perfect is the fact there is no texture to the weathering, but wow, overall, this thing is stunning! And I am interested in seeing how that new BS Darth Vader compares to the older one. It appears to have a few coloration differences, but we shall see. I knew very little of Bo Katan prior to the Mandalorian as well, but as soon as she (and Katee Sackoff) showed up on screen, I was enthralled. That may also have to do with the fact that I enjoyed Katee's performances in Longmire and Battlestar Galactica. At any rate, you are correct. They did such a good job with this one. The only thing they could improve at this point would be to give the weathering a little texture for more realism. And the range finder action is much better. And I love your optimism. A motorized actuator? That WOULD be great, and I think it's possible, but we'd be looking at nearly a $200 helmet for sure. Thankfully I'm just going to jam it on a shelf somewhere and look at it, so I'm happy with the manual actuation. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you do, Paul. Especially at the sale prices I have seen them coming down to like you mentioned. I am starting to run out of display room, so I packed up all my Mandalorian style helmets except for Din Djarin, OG Boba Fett and this one. I think those three best represent, and are indicative of, the three types of Mandalorian helmets we have seen to date, so they ended up on a different wall, outside my cases, on display.

And it appears that this range finder will not fit on the Boba Fett helmet. The receptacle seems to be a different shape with a different plug configuration. That was a great thought, though! That's a very good question, CrimeGuy. I was contacted by Empire Essentials after my review was published, and they explained the tape is Gorilla Tape. An interesting choice to be sure, but I can attest that it has held up magnificently. Now, the hard question. Empire Essentials did a GREAT job, as you saw in my video. The helmet is beautiful, especially for the price, albeit a little small for my head. Now, knowing the Black Series Bo Katan is out there, and so easy to get, I would recommend that MOST collectors just grab that one. Don't get me wrong, I love my Empire Essentials Bo Katan, but for the price and quality, it's so hard to compete with Hasbro. Once again, nothing against Empire Essentials in the least.

@@PaulsCollectibles Too bad, no company has a quality Jango Fett helmet (inside and out) at a reasonable price. Most people like to see my huge collection up close. Seeing duct tape and uneven dried adhesive all over the inside kinda kills the mood. I don’t mind paying a little more, but last Jango helmet I saw with nice detail was over $800.00.

Alex, I have tried on all those Black Series helmets you mentioned, plus all the the others in my collection before putting them on display and they all fit my huge head (I have a size 8 head). They, unfortunately for you, seem to be about the same size internally. So my guess is that if Bo Katan doesn't fit you, most likely the Clone nor the Mando helmet would fit you either. Question: is the helmet interior itself too small for you, or is the strap rigging inside not big enough? Becuase if it's the strap rigging, you can simply pop that out from the two places where it is anchored inside the helmet to make more room. Then, if you need some pads, you can buy a plastic bag of adhesive bicycle helmet pads from a bike shop and stick them inside wherever you might need them. Hope this info helps.... Batteries left installed in a device and unattended for an extended time period will eventually begin to leak the caustic chemicals contained inside, This reacts with the plastic and metal in the battery compartment and damages them and stains them. So, I will tell you, Big Hoss, I have discovered that it is nearly impossible to take the projected availability dates for these helmets, and figures, seriously. GameStop said they were going to deliver this in April, yet my order from them keeps getting pushed back, and isn't due till nearly June now at this point. Big Bad Toy Store said April, and they delivered in May. Dorkside Toys said November, and they delivered in May. Everyone else that I use said November, and they still haven't delivered. So, I just keep daily tabs on where each retailer is with each order and adjust accordingly. It seems the expected dates are mostly inaccurate on a surprisingly regular basis!

Andy, I will eventually film a comparison video between the Mandalorian helmets I own. But to put it succinctly, there are three main differences that I feel are noticeable and important. The EE version has an "artsy" paint-like finish with a slight sheen to it, as compared to the BS version which is more matte and flat. The EE version is significantly smaller overall. It doesn't come close to fitting on my head, whereas the BS version fits just fine. And finally, the range finder on the EE version is less detailed, simply an inert prop and not quite as finely finished. Whereas, the BS version range finder is finely detailed and has the electronics inside. Overall, the EE version is more of an "art" piece, whereas the BS version is more of a toy helmet/prop piece.

Tenkuu, it's comparable in size. I though it might be much smaller since it meant for a physically smaller character, but no. It even fits my nearly size 8 head, which was an awesome surprise! Thanks for checking out the video!

It's not silly at all, B1! I think wear-ability is an important factor when looking at these helmets. And this one, like all the Hasbro helmets I own, actually is wearable and will fit adult and kid sized heads. Mine fits me and I have a size 8 head. It's like a gargantua-melon! haha!
