Originally Designed in 2005 by Frank Diorio for the Star Wars Celebration III Diorama Builders Workshop booth - The convention's Mega Death Star project has been updated or DELUXIFIED :) in 2022 to make it more movie accurate than what the fans built at the show.
With this tutorial, you can now continue your Celebration adventure in your own home or if you didn't have the opportunity to attend the convention, you can now build just like the fans did at the convention in Indianapolis April 2005 but with improved movie accuracy and in the case of this hallway - LIGHT UP CEILING - not available to the fans in 2005 due to unavailability of LED Light Strips at the time.

The BASIC HALLWAY CONNECTORS is a 2022 Deluxified modular ACCESSORY BUILD option (not available at the time to the Celebration 2005 builders) for you to add as skin texture to your Death Star Basic hallways ceiling front panel strip to enhance the look of your final display as you create your very own MEGA DEATH STAR DIORAMA - Be it the same Movie Accurate version as I built and you see in these tutorials or by selecting the Hallways and Rooms of your choice, There is no limit to size and layout but your imagination.

Thank you Thomas for taking the time to say such lovely words :) spread the word to your friends to come play along with us :) i just spent 3 days editing tomorrows video. Its fun but takes so much time away from all the other things I want to do. Send me pics of what you are working on, always love seeing that. Hey Gabbo, yes there is, I have had so many requests for 6" as it is what many collect now, I never got into it myself because of the Canadian prices and I already have thousands of 3.75 figures, I wasn't about to start all over ;P anyway I created a NEW Speed Index 6" on my site for you to see what's currently available native. It's still early on, but should be growing through the year. Here is the link... dioramaworkshop.com/speed-index-6in-112-scale/ now if you see anything on the site for 3.75 that you want to fit your 6" figures, for dimensions... Multiply the blueprints X1.6 and for decals you can scale them up 160%. Hope that helps. Please send some photos for the visitors gallery when you are done, I am very curious to see this with larger figures. Frank.

Why its blue?

Hey Jacket, there are so many colour variations to the death star depending what version of Star Wars you watch. Even though the actual on set walls I believe were plain grey, the look up tables (LUT) used to give films their colour grade appearance is more of a blueish grey tint in the original 1977 version of the movie which is why I decided to go with this look for my decals. Of course if you make your own and want less blue, you can always desaturate in photoshop when printing from your computer. Frank.
