More like: SnooPINGAS usual I see?

This was a very scary cartoon. It gave me nightmares. Goto 14:40 to see what I mean. If I saw this in 1986 - I'd be under 5 years old. I look back at this episode. You had this massive menacing machine that lures R2 units and then it uses them as food. It sucks the life out of R2 units, and our heroes were pretty much stuck there and they were pretty weak. You had no "He-Man" or Luke Skywalker to come in a kick the hell out of this Great Heap. The other thing, is that this is a double episode - you have nearly an hour of this menacing beast! This was rated "U" for audiences above 4 years - the ratings guidance suggest that "threats" are resolved quickly - erm this took nearly an hour! Ha! Character building Episode.

I remember watching this as a young kid. I had a toy robot which took four D batteries, so it's battery compartment was big enough to put my R2-D2 figure in it. I used to reenact this episode quite a lot.

I want the Heep brought back in some manner.

The canon that you think Disney are denying _does_ still exist. It hasn't been erased. It's just known as the Legends Canon now. And look at it logically. With all the stories that came out in books, video games etc, there's no way Disney could've done a new story without it violating the stories that already existed. In order for it to make sense, Disney had to create a new canon surrounding what happened in the films. It's just like in Marvel and DC comics - not everything exists under one canon. And nisa_rouge below me, I’ll say this here as an edit since my other reply to you seemed to get shadow-banned and not worth having where it is now - you’re not funny or clever by ignoring me stating facts and twisting my words into something nonsensical. I know, R5-D4 is actually one of my favorite characters. "Uncle Owen! This R2 unit has a bad motivator." The one they drew just happens to look extremely similar to the Kenner one.

Probably an inspiration for the official Super Battle Droid. As for the sacrificed R2 unit, probably the same model or mistakenly added and forgot to recolor it.

The Great Heep is an Abominor, so he’s part of the reason they left their galaxy in the first place.

It would sadly be inevitably used as a war weapon to take water out of places that need to be invaded or taken down

+Com Dickinson It's a telefilm, not an episode. And you have to expect that in SW now and again. After all, they had an on-screen death in the series; a peaceful passing in silhouette, but a death nonetheless.

True, but I'm said that it's surprisingly dark out of joy. When you watch nine episodes of C3PO and R2-D2 just stumbling their way into victory when facing with the weirdest of circumstances, it's pleasing to find a "telefilm" that puts the two characters not only in legitimate paril, but to see them succeed through their wit and resolve. Having said all that, thank you for the clearifiation. It's nice to discuss media every once in a while.

Com Dickinson You're welcome! It's a pity that this series is so difficult to reconcile with the movie canon, given that they seem to have been in the labor pool of the Tantive IV from the end of ROTS to the beginning of ANH. Then again, a lot can happen in 18 years...

The Silentium and Abominor war consumed vast swathes of the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy and the people of Yuuzhan’tar appealed to their gods for aid: the pantheon gave them organic technology enabled them to drive out the mechanical factions

The Silentium still exist (I believe mostly in the Unknown Regions, I know Lando travelled with one for a while), but I’m unsure of the fate of the Abominor. Perhaps they also reside in the Unknown Regions?

Well he was in this, true enough. But as an Abominor Droid, he (like the Silentium Droids) are from the same galaxy as the Yuuzhan Vong.
