It is unusual, indeed. I think D trumpet is more common than C.

Αντώνης Βαμβακούσης uhh b flat is the most common one. C is used by many symphony players for a slightly brighter sound. I don’t know anyone who plays a d trumpet

@@soggypotato6381 In my band every trumpet is Bb, but baritones have to change the instrument for concerts, parades,football games, etc. Our marching baritones are for football games, parades, and pep band, euphonium is used for concerts.
