I just saw a story of someone making a small R2D2 for their robotics class. And got all R2D2 sounds but were all labeled with a letter. He wanted each beep and chirp to have a meaning, so what did he do? He listened to EACH sound and named them something different, like "happy sounds" or "this is some shifty business" so that each beep would feel unique when he programmed it. I really wanna see how that turned out.

Love the sounds. Takes me back to some good ole' days. On a different note, and totally unrelated, I always thought they should have had another droid who was R2's long, lost brother...like R2 D3, or something of the like. And after years of looking, R2 D2 finally tracks down someone who knows where the family that purchased D3 lives. Excited, R2 D2 goes to see him...looking forward to a long awaited reunion. But when he finally pays the family a visit, he's mortified and devastated when he finds out that they turned his brother into a garbage can.

Funny he sounds like a dial-up modem so many years before the interwebs.

They should add these sound effects to the little delivery vehicles that I sometimes see on my estate. If someone gets in their way they bleepybloopbleep at them before saying "excuse me" so they can trundle off on their way. Those little things always make me smile.

I can associate a good amount of these sounds with the specific moments in the movies he uses them, and am only a little ashamed of that.

Poor Kenny Baker he was the man who created R2 D2 he made this thing come to life I’m surprised you even could survive because that was made out of titanium when ever he used because guess what whenever he first got in side the droid he would fall flat on his face it is so sad apparently after three days of the robotic one of the R2-D2 to come out he died Kenny Baker died it was very famous it’s amazing and it’s amazing how he would whistle for hours and hours it’s sad poor Kenny Baker like I said at the beginning!❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😢 it made me sad whenever I heard he died whenever the robotic one came out of the R2 D2
