Stephen G not only did he see Hera one last time, He sees Ezra to, both of them are in that single shot, looking on in horror. In that final moment, not only does he see the love of his life one last time, but his surrogate son too.

Dave Filoni on Kanan’s eyes regaining their color. Rebels Recon: “When I was drawing it I could just see his eyes and I was like that’s a moment where he can see her. And I thought in this moment because he’s in this point where he’s just kind of energy, where he’s about to die, when he’s more one with everything he’s ever been, you’d have this clarity where things like physical sight just doesn’t matter.“ SW Celebration: “He is, in this one instance, not so much a part of the material world as immaterial. He’s almost in that world between that I like so much. And I thought it’s this one instance, again the reality of it or not, it’s what you believe, and what you feel. And I think for Hera their connection, that she can see that and she can see him and so...what does that mean? Do you need it to be about your eyes seeing somebody or not? I don’t know. But that was the way to express in that moment, and I thought it was great.” Director of cinematography Joel Aron on what happened: “Clarity. It wasn’t that they were seeing each other, it’s just that everything connected. For how I perceive that moment is that everything’s okay.”

It is funny how the project was named Stardust but it was actually the project manager's daughter's nickname he called her. Galen (the abducted project manager) sought his revenge by leaving a weakness on the Death Star and leaving a message to Saw and his daughter Jynn (Stardust). The message Galen left for Jynn made me cry. It was so well done.

"Hera: Kanan, you haven't gotten me a present since we first met. " "Kanan: There's something I need to tell you." This lines from future. In the end Kanan's connection to force risen more. Maybe he is not best swordmaster among all Jedis. Maybe he is not best force wielder among all Jedis But The Force itself choose to guide him. And in his last moment Kanan become The Force. Not many Great Jedi Master achieve this.

The reason he cut his hair is because this is what he looked like when he met hera as caleb dume, and the loth wolf pretty much told or showed him that he would die. He wanted to die as caleb dume, not as kanan jarrus which is why he cut his hair. He became one with the force and pretty much was a force ghost before he died which was how he, a regular jedi with a midichlorian count of around 13500, less than half of anakins original count, was able to pull of an anakin type force feat from clone wars and regain his eyesight. He knew he would die and became one with the force before the bomb even exploded

She's an agressively shitty person. A very pure example of the kind of individuals that the Imperial system empowers. Her entire rise was predicated on selling out her own world to the Military Industrial Complex, and the TIE Defender Project is just her way of riding Thrawn and Tarkin's coattails to the top, despite her own obvious ineptitude (as evidenced in Secret Cargo and the first Thrawn novel.)

Kanan Jarrus....not Jedi Knight. He died a Jedi Master. He did the one thing Anakin never could...save his loved ones from death. But Kanan did. Not through a thirst for power, or manipulation. But through sacrifice. Kanan exemplifies what it means to be a Jedi. Now if you all don't mind, I need to go sob in a corner as I think about this episode.

The lives of people are often a collection of moments. In these moments they are presented with a core choice: to use their gifts selfishly, or to act selflessly. To the Jedi however, these moments are especially important because those sensitive to the force often come to embody the character of their choices. Kanan Jarrus was presented with his critical moment, and chose without hesitation to use the Force in the defense of others. In doing so he embodied a true Jedi Knight. May the Force be with you Kanan Jarrus. You may not have been the most conventional, the most skilled, or the most powerful Jedi, but in the end you were everything a Jedi Knight should be.

No idea why but the first time I saw this the following quote jumped to mind for Kanan and it's kinda stuck with me: Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it. White shores... and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise. Also just about the only Jedi to die on screen not for duty or their apprentice but for family. Gone too soon but a life well lived nonetheless.

What makes it worse is the expanded lore behind this scene. Kanan was unable to become a force ghost as he was unaware how and upon realizing he is unable to contain the blast he accepts his fate and mentally prepared to die. Doing so allows him to become one with the force. In exchange for his return to the force, his energy soon joining with it, the force granted him one final wish. The return of his sight to look upon the love of his life one last time. This scene will never be easy to watch.

It is finally here... I cried again, this is amazing to watch and too much too take at the same time. Kanan became a true Jedi Master, sacrificing himself to save others. To me, one of the best jedi ever to watch (if not THE BEST, considering that we could see great part of his journey - yeah, Ahsoka is not a Jedi, but they are top 2). Caleb Dume, Jedi Knight. Get ready Xelle, this is far from done! Rebels is awesome! Cheers from Brasil (sorry about the english, again)

When you think about it, the reason Kanan cut his hair and shaved, was that he was preparing himself for death. The wolf probably communicated to him that he would have to give his life to save his friends. You can tell the entire episode that he was preparing, saying his goodbyes.

Such a coincidence that you watched rebels two weeks ago - just stumbled upon rebels after watching the last season of clone wars and I’m so shook after this episode. I love hera so much and it’s so sad to see her lose Kanan it feels cruel that he dies right after she says she loves him 😭

Kanan Jarrus/Caleb Dume, the epitome of being one with the Force, after being blinded to the things around him. Embodying the ways of the true Jedi, and letting go of all attachments for the greater good, and in one final moment of clarity the Force let him 'see' one final time. Beautiful.

This was how Kanan Jarrus, aka Caleb Dume, became one of my favorite Jedi of them all. His family values and love clarified his use of the Force to achieve a higher purpose -- saving those most important to him. If that isn't being one with the Force, I don't really care for what is. One of the most meaningful insights Dave Filoni has pointed out is that Star Wars is more than anything about family; that a strong family bond is more powerful than anything the Dark Side can conjure. I'm really grateful he gets shows like this to express that point.

Realized I have never commented on one of your videos after going through them all. What better episode to rectify that. Sweet and sour watching you fall for Kanan knowing what would happen. Not much to say that hasn't been already for comfort so a simple thank you. Even when it is hard to put out content.

After the Season 2 finale, Rebels just soared. The final season is one of the best things I have seen in the star wars canon. Dave Filoni and gang managed to give so much depth and nuance to every character and the journey that Kanan and Ezra took was just beautifully explored. Poignant, exciting, uplifting and heroic - this was Star Wars at its very best. Just give Dave Filoni the creative control for everything Star Wars. Can't wait to see The Mandalorian S2 and The Bad Batch now.

Kanan Jarrus(Caleb Dume) Jedi Knight, leader, rebel, friend, lover, hero, and champion of the Force. From a man who denied his heritage as a Jedi to one of the best their ever was and one of the Forces most dedicated servants. On some level I think Kanan know he was going to die but there was no fear or anger just calm acceptance because he knew this sacrifice would allow those he loved to live. Kanan was living proof of how wrong the old Jedi Order was when it came to attachment and love. Kanan was as in tuned with the Force as any of the masters of old and did not hold on to grief, anger, or fear but he also loved those who were close to him. That love made him stronger and better. Kanan's arc in this show was amazing and his impact will be felt by all those he was close to long after his passing.

I can’t watch this episode without bawling. When she said she doesn’t know what to say, all I can think is “it’s ok. We’re right there with you.” Kanan was such an exemplary character and had an amazing character arc who not only helped others but allowed others to help him too.
