One important detail I think is easy to miss. Sabine's mother is asked if her custom is more important than the life of her daughter. She looks back at Kanan, and seems to momentarily think. Yet the duel plays out without her interrupting. She lets it go. Sabine wins, and then is about to be shot in the back - and that is when Ursa draws blaster. To the question of Mandalorian custom or the daughter's life, she answered both. First, Mandalorian custom by allowing her daughter to win in single combat. Then, her daughter's life by blasting. Her honor as Mandalorian has been preserved by not interrupting a custom, but when the defeated would dishonorably shoot the victor in the back, she protected her daughter. You may argue "so she only did this for her customs" but the Resol'nare is clear. Her family was in danger, and there was no longer any obligation to withdraw support. ...I also love how they created a momentary suspense when the blast rings. The audio design and animation truly mesh into something that feels... genius.

So if we go by the idea that a lightsaber is a Jedi's life, can we remark how admirable it is that Ezra tossed it to Sabine? He just got it back, but he had no problems just throwing it to Sabine. Goes to show how much trust Ezra has on Sabine. He would entrust his life to her without a second thought.

During that fight that ended up being Saxon's last, I couldn't help but observe & notice several things about Saxon. 1: he was arrogant. A trait that ultimately became his downfall. 2nd: I noticed that, for a guy who's obviously an excellent swordsman & experienced in melee & hand-to-hand, he seemed to rely a little too much on his jetpack & his other gadgets & toys. The very last thing I noticed about Saxon was his fighting in general. Here's what I mean by that: if you observed the fight as well as I did you'd notice that he was making his every attempt at striking her way too quickly, & he was striking way too much out of hate, & it was exhausting him. In melee combat, it's always very important to strike only when there's an opening. If you strike too early you could get hurt. Strike too late & the only thing you could do is make it easier for you to end up being struck instead. & those were my observations Everything I observed is stuff Saxon should've known better about, & frankly he did know better, but ignored her simply ignored it just so he could try & kill Sabine.

Sabine Wren was a trained Mandalorian versed in basic Mando combat, an explosives expert, an expert marksman, a super talented engineer that no one could copy, a talented repair technician that is able to repair anything like ship engines and weapons, is able to defeat Clone Wars veteran Mandalorian soldiers like Gar Saxon in 1v1 combat, attended in the Imperial Academy, was a fantastic Tie fighter pilot, designed a super weapon (without any help) that baffles other Imperial/Rebel/Mandalorian Engineers, was a famous Bounty Hunter throughout the Galaxy and had other Bounty Hunters owe her favors, is able to wield a lightsaber without the force and fight Jedi 1v1, comes from a famous Mandalorian family (which is basically Royalty) and was a well known Galactic Artist because of her famous art......all before the age of 14 years old! And now she's a Jedi and Force sensitive. Even surviving getting stabbed by a Lightsaber. 😂

I really hope we see Sabine continue to train as a Jedi in The Mandalorian S3 and Ahsoka. She's proven herself time and time again to be just as worthy as the legendary Tarre Vizsla, and it would be fitting if she were to be the first Mandalorian Jedi since him.

Oh man just watched the extended Ashoka trailer and I can’t wait to see Sabine put these saber skills to the test again!

I find it interesting how the shot that kills Gar sounds like a realistic gun shot placed over a blaster sound. I think it was done for dramatic effect since the impact of a real shot while off-screen has a stronger punch.
