The strangest thing about Obi - Wans mold lines is that on a lot of their other sculpts they do an incredible job of hiding those lines. Using folds and overlapping like you said. For some reason, on this very expensive box, they drop the ball.

I understand the criticism of the mini quality, I had the same initial reaction (I also don't play Shatterpoint or Legion). However, having a Vader/Luke/Wren/Maul model painted and on display has given me such a dopamine hit! It gives me the same feeling as having a custom designed mini for my DnD character ... lots of flaws, but I am so invested in them it doesn't matter.

As for the lightsaber blades, they're more "realistic" in this scale to how they should be. In legion they had to be chunky otherwise they'd be near impossible to mould without snapping. I believe the newer plastic Legion models are a little thinner than the older resin cast models. I binged Tales of the Empire then restarted Ahsoka. Empire was the first film I watched only because A New Hope had already been rented out at the video shop.

I'd describe Obi Wan's outer robe as 'taupe'.

The Kenobi model is amazing and the paint scheme is very good. I remember seeing Star Wars in 1977, standing on line for two hours before watching it on screen, with 1500 other fans in the theater, in NYC. It was a wonderful experience and the movie blew me away.

X-Wing mini's are already painted but a trench run diorama would have been crazy (if you are looking for a video game to play I have 2 suggestions. Star Wars: Republic Comando or Star Wars Rouge Squadron 3D both are cheap and on sale on steam)

Nice take Andy, I've attempted a Vader before but I liked your take on how to paint him. Getting the different textures on the blacks is something I'll use. I keep thinking about getting the witch mother set for shatterpoint. Mostly just for a painting project although there is a small shatterpoint community in the area. I have a fair amount of legion and have enjoyed playing that game as well. My main thing with games like shatterpoint and crisis protocol is there's no easy in if you don't want the core box stuff. So u kinda end up getting the core box anyway as it makes more financial sense. I'd be keen to just have a warband but then there's the specific dice and range rulers etc... terrain isn't so much of an issue these days as the FDM printer can churn out plenty as needed. Anyways I digress. Happy may the 4th to all. My happy moment with star wars is our youngest he's eight ATM and has been watching star wars all his life. He loves it so much and his sheer joy and happiness at the entire universe lights up my world every time I see his face when he's watching it. It's a timeless universe, I love all of it. I had alot of fun exploring the EU stuff on audible books. The Darth Bane series was fantastic especially if your a budding sith lord..

Darth Vader's sculpt does him justice. Definitely brings fear to those unfortunate enough to cross his path. His Rogue One rebel slaughter scene was epic. Again, thanks for sharing your paint project on that diograma.

Nice. I guess we’ve got used to how reliable the quality has got from other miniature brands. Hard to stomach when they don’t get it right but nice reminder of the normal standard I guess!

Another great video Andy. I was really intrigued to see how well your paint method transitioned to 54mm, that actually opens up a lot of possibilities that I wouldn't have thought about before. Really great to see how Vader worked out too!

Great looking diorama! I totally agree with your thought on the lightsabers, but I think the sculpts as a whole are quite good. I prefer the proportions in Shatterpoint in comparison to legion.

Half way through the video ATM but I had to say ohff about those connections points on Obi. Sprue glue would probably be my answer to fill that problem point. Still for the price point of the shatterpoint kits I would also be disappointed.

Love when you branch into other games or the Lotr stuff. Random question, where do you pick up most of your transfers you use for the bretonnians? Is there a 3rd party you recommend?
