I love how your comment directly follows on from mine, at least thematically. In the sense of a thematic "comment harvest". Funnily enough, one of the most important musical themes in famous compositions of the 20thC is Rhapsody in Blue, and this reminds me of my original comment..

I think the way that Torbin died was great, and the twist with the twins actually had me, maybe I’m foolish, maybe I just want to enjoy Star Wars

I’m actually enjoying The Acolyte. The rage-hate campaign against this show is actually nuts. Its making proper discourse and discussion hard to do. Because most of the people who hate it hasn’t gone past the first few minutes of the first episodes, so most criticisms I’ve come across have been dumb, vague and shallow.

I loved the first two episodes and I can't wait to see how the series plays out. I don't make my judgment right away because I don't think it's fair to judge a TV show based on two episodes. But this show made me realize that I hate the Star Wars fandom on both sides because it is nothing but fighting and arguments over tiny little things that don't matter.

maybe it’s just cause i’m a more in the star wars bubble but I think the twin reveal being in the first episode was great. there were so many people theorizing online that this was a twin situation so if they dragged that out for 6 or 8 or whatever episodes i would’ve been very annoyed. now that that’s out of the way, we can move on to the actual mystery that wasn’t spoiled in the trailer, that being “what the fuck happened when the jedi acquired mae” and torbin seeing her and instantly apologizing and killing himself rather than own up to what he did makes it even juicier. idk personally Im really enjoying it so far, not as much as andor but still.

I just find it too dull already, honesty any of the plots from Star Wars Visions would've made for a better story.

As someone who purposefully didn't watch any of the marketing, I was disappointed with the quick reveal. They had one tease about whether Mae did it, "What I do on my weekends isn't your business", then 5mins later they show her not being able to use the force. So it's either a twin or someone who can copy appearances. It is cool how guilty Torbin seemed. I'm enjoying it but the only hook is 'who the dude with the lightsaber'? but he's just gonna be some new character so meh maybe? Though it may take a good turn :)

I loved the show so far, I feel the same way I felt after the Andor premiere: solid start and I'm intrigued to see the rest. But I also feel it's the type of show we got watch it entirely to properly judge

I didn't like the first two episodes but it feels like everyone online either dislikes it because of bigotry or loves it and and denies that anyone could dislike it unless its for that reason. It's exhausting and feels like no one can objectively discuss or critique it, so this was refreshing.

I’m a big fan, and i think the show is Alright so far. But seeing all the shallow hatred for the show has my back up. I’ve found myself defending this show more than i normally would, mainly because the criticisms i come across are really dumb. Like fire in space or witches in SW.

@@Piratesi666 Hearing there were witches was what got me to give the show a go, seemed cool and fresh. Weren't they always part of the extended canon in some way? As for the fire in space and other nitpicks, I think it only really becomes an issue when you already dislike what you're seeing, it doesn't work as a criticism on its own as its very easily dismissable.

I think her not using a lightsaber and her master showing his lightsaber being red is to due with the fact that a sith has to steal and bleed a crystal that was owned by a jedi. So if she had one it would alert the jedi of the sith. And him showing his, is telling the audience that both he's done this and knows to hide it.

I wonder if you could order more actual hit men than Hit Man films for that $? I suppose it depends on the market, whether you go budget or premium, streaming (idk what that means but everyone says "streaming" at work so I figure it must be important), etc... Food for thought. Speaking of food, did you know that food is often obtained by means of a "harvest"? Another fun fact: there is no blue food. Apart from blueberries but shut up about that anyway. This reminds me of the (not food-related) bit of trivia about Star Wars...

I was gonna give this one a chance because she is all over the marketing, and I had to turn it off after the opening. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope we will get more of her in flashbacks or something

I tried watching it. It was garbage, I dont like this term but the people online are right, it's lame. Also I didn't hear anyone online talking about race, it as more focused on how badly written it was (but im not running the same groups as James)

Agree sadly, I wanted to like it but it was so damn dull. They made Jedi dull like the Prequels. Star Wars Visions shows you can make the Force so damn cool if you try hard enough.

It really bums me out that like with Obi-Wan, Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka we have to settle for something that is mid. Though at least those shows had decent stuff in them. I feels like Disney are generally too scared or too lazy to hire really good writers and showrunners

Pretty sure if you had mostly straight white actors, with a straight white director, and stories written by straight white men who actually like Star Wars, and have a respect for the source material…call me crazy, but I feel it would be far more popular.

*Some people hate the show because they think it's boring, other people see these people hating on a show that happens to have (insert minority) and proceed to pretènd they've seen it so they can hate on it. To the point some of these second group started review bombing other things that just happened to be named "Acolyte"... to say "NO ONE is hating the show because it's diverse" is a bit silly, with terms like "wokelyte" trending.
