I love that all the missions are episodes of the show, in name and theme! That pushed this over the edge for me.

My favorite of all the pandemics: simple, fast, fun, with a big replayability and a theme that shines for me!

My friends and i just played our first games with TCW. They got it for me for my birthday and it was so fun. We barely beat Ventress. The first game we played, we didnt know we had to do the villain card and invasion after each players turn. We thought it was each round. 2nd time we got slaughtered. As someone who is the biggest Clone Wars fan, i love the references to the show to even obscure episodes and each villain definitely feels like their characters. I cant wait to play again

I didn’t think that I would ever need another Pandemic game. Goes to show what I know. I will cull my collection to grab this one. Thanks for showcasing it!

This was on my christmas list and I'm really glad this ended up being bought for me. It still feels very much like Pandemic but with its own flavour. The rules feel a little unclear on the point of damage though. The rules state that when you recieve damage that you have to lose a card from hand to counter each point of damage received. 'In hand' seems to me to imply a card not already exhausted that turn. I will probably add this to the forums on BGG as there does not seem to be a thread that covers this from my first glance. I would suggest that you first lose a card from hand for damage purposes and only if you have no cards left not yet played do you then use exhausted cards to discard for damage. I think that this definitely works as a Pandemic game as once you start losing control, the threat level is going to advance very rapidly. You really feel like you need to keep everything controlled as there are only 3 blockades and you can't afford to leave them unchecked.

At 27:27 you have Ahsoka going around in a circle using up her turn. You could have had her go to Rishi and use her ability from there, allowing you to Reinforce three times instead of just once.

Thanks, Colin! I watched your video and decided to call Target and I will pick it up during my work lunch break today! I am super excited about this as it will be my first Star Wars Board Game. I have been enjoying the Warcraft version so hopefully I will still keep it in my collection after playing the Clone Wars!

This looks like it might become my preferred Pandemic style game.

Thanks Colin. Really enjoyed watching along. Was thinking it might be worth getting, but having seen Jason's playthrough of Fall of Rome, decided I like that one better, partly cos of theme. Then this morning saw Liz Davidson's preview of Rising Waters (not Pandemic but has some similar vibes) and decided that might be better lol Not that I seem to be able to get any games to the table atm. lol

Great playthrough! Camera work and explanations were on-point. Game seems a bit underwhelming, a bit easy. I get that you could lose because of threat, but the Jedi themselves never seemed to be in any threatening position. Feels like by the end of the game the had a personal army with them and just cakewalked every enemy. I wish enemies were more threatening, I guess. And that there was more emphasis on resource management

The game looks great. Thanks for the video :) I'm already thinking about doing a fan expansion for the Squad Cards: A new deck of Event Cards with the names of all Squad Cards and thematically fitting card effects like "Deal 1 damage on a connected planet" (Stealth Units) or "Move another Jedi 1 planet" (Transport Units)... and maybe some flavor text to explain the situations and add more depth to the units. The rules would be: Each round you reveal 1 Event Card and if that card's name matches one of your hand cards, you can choose to discard the matching readied hand card to use this special effect instead. It would work like the Ally Cards in the game, but less predictable and a bit weaker to make up for the possible two options to use a card. (This would make the game a bit easier, so maybe you would have to play on a higher difficulty level.)

I'm not a big fan of pandemic but this game seems like a must for me if only for the artwork

Love every playthrough I've watched from you! Your attention to detail on how nicely your camera presents the game state is really quite rare. Pandemic engine seems a bit too simple (for my taste). I love mage knight, spirit island and renegade. Is there anything else out there you might be able to recommend that can compare to those amazing games? Its sooooo hard to find anything close. Especially regenade since the mechanics are so amazing but its hard to get people to try because of the theme.

Well, after a week of checking daily at two stores, the local Target finally put copies on the shelves 😅 I picked up one yesterday morning. I had a good time yesterday afternoon, crawling through an introductory game against Ventress with randomly drawn Jedi (Anakin and Aayla Secura). I was kind confused what to do with Ventress during the finale stage, since her AI deck primarily has her moving toward mission planets (during the finale she starts ON the mission planet)... Maybe I misread/misunderstood a section of the rules concerning the AI deck, regarding the finale missions.

so far, i'm loving this game. i'll have to find a way to get it. although, it sucks that fives had to go down so early. if you are familiar with the clone wars animated series, you know what happens to poor fives.

Are you supposed to start with a blockade where your Jedi starts? It’s a bit confusing on the reference card.

Can you do a mission while a droid is there? I know you can't wait villain but I didn't know if there's a draw back to having a droid on planet while doing a mission ending your turn on an occupied planet (beyond villain effects like the generals)

I may try out this game and use mace and Ahsoka since their free actions combined together are pretty great

I wonder how this game holds up to Defenders of the Realm?

looks great for the Star Wars art work and minies, but taking the fan service apart, it seems a pretty light game. I watched many playthroughs in the net and they all win easily even for beginers. You have all the chances to win on it. It' s not like the common Pandemic where you end up totally crushed by the game (even in easy mode) and you have that sense of playing again until finally beat it.

I liked what they did with the wow version but two things made me saying goodbye to it (the theme 1st, I'm not a wow fan, then the boss fight that where just another Samy quest) but averall, I was pleased with the changes they made on it, such as improving the players cards a lot and making the dices and combats much better, dynamic and fun. It also looks like in this SW version, we have to be a bit more on the same place with our teamates which is nice for the co-op feeling. So I was wondering if this one could make an even better "wow" version with a more appealing theme for me... And I think... That this might be the (only) pandemic I'm looking for! :) Bad for my wallet but I think that it might really be the pandemic I've been waiting for a long time. Quick question : Is there is still those games where you can't do anything coz you've a bad enemy drawing? (it happened on the cthulhu version and was sometimes really just ending fast without anything else to do except, reseting the game...) do you that in this SW version as well? And also, is there's any fast long distance travel? or is it just max 2 spaces with those véhicules cards? Cheers and thanks for the content, loving it!

I'm brand new to board games and looking for some games with strong replayability. Would you say this game has high replayability? EDIT: I'm trying to choose between this or Rebellion although I've heard Rebellion is very hard for new players

I have a problem. So if maul is at threat 5 then I don't have any chance to win because the showdown is 7 soldiers + threat also 5. But I can't do this because the most I can have is 6 soldiers + c3po and r2d2 is then the most I can have 3+6+2 is 11. How does this work?

How hard is this compared to other pandemic? I like pandemic but my group is looking for a bit more challenging.

thanks for the playthrough, i was excited about this one because it was star was, but the board is just... kind of ugly, but the pandemic system is a little too simple now, and not even star wars seems to make it interesting enough for me after seeing the game, i might be over a game that looks too simple.

My instinct is that Pandemic is the wrong system: it simulates things that crop up and break out, from floodwater to barbarians, but the Separatist Alliance is much more like an equal adversary trading blows for blows. If I was going to make a Pandemic game in a Star Wars setting, I might possibly have gone with the weak vulnerable years of the New Republic, perhaps during the rise of of the First Order, or just gone all in and make the players the Empire trying to stamp out the rebels.

Meh. I love the clone wars but this looks pretty bland. Should have used something other than Pandemic
