We're huge fans of Star Wars and stoked to Star Wars The Last Jedi. We shot this over 2 days in Vancouver BC Canada in Stanley Park. We've been wanting to do this video for awhile ever since we met David Barron and saw his crazy contact sword skills and thought he looked like a Jedi using the force to move the swords around his body so we figured why not make a Star Wars themed video out of it.

i just saw this the second time and i just realized that both "katas" show the relationship between a dark side and a light side force user with the force. the lightsabers are perfect placeholders in this vid. it shows how a sith manipulates the force, makes it his own and bends it to its will. the jedi on the other hand allows the force to flow around him, he even performs handmovements and signatures while the weapon kinda does its own thing and flows around him. after realizing that i absolutely love this video, all time favorite. pls forgive the poor english :/

Came for the Sith, stayed for the Jedi The Sith made my jaw drop, the Jedi made my eyes tear up. What a beautiful interpretation of Jedi philosophy; like letting the Force control his movements instead of the other way around.

You can tell their difference in ideology in their style. The sith is bending the force to his will and incorporating it into his arsenal. He is perfecting it like a skill, a discipline. The jedi is letting the force flow around him and channels it to defend and attack. He is a vessel for the force.

+dozer1189 from just watching the movie at the beginning she was carrying a staff. and you saw when the two thugs tried to take bb8 she clearly fought them with ease so yea she didn't have any training with lightsabers but she did have some sort of combat training and im sure shes used that staff of hers before in some way or another. don't understand why people are getting so butt hurt about it. also grammer nazis welcomed.
@dozer1189

Dry456 A staff is not using jedi mind control and fighting a sith apprentice with a light saber. She could hold her own in a fight, but she had no experience with the force at all, and then the next day she beats Kylo Ren? Naw bruh
@Andreasork123
@Andreasork123 8 жыл бұрын
+dozer1189 Did you miss that Kylo Ren got shot in the side by Chewie's crossbow? Later he also got wounded by Finn before finishing him. He was in a very weakened state when he fought Rey. He was also very presumptuous because he just owned Finn hard. He underestimated Rey. About the mind trick we don't know her story enough yet, for all we know she could be a jedi and Luke mindwiped her memory and was hiding her on Jakku.

I LOVE the juxtaposition in this one. There's so much power and anger in the Sith's movements, almost like he's on the verge of screaming in rage; and on the other hand, the Jedi conceals his emotions, never letting violence get to the better part of him-- It's almost like he doesn't need to intimidate anyone because he has nothing to prove. A1 video. Absolute masterpiece.

For those who is still wondering how he did the returning saber, it's so simple. He really just attached a string to it. From 2:39-2:40, if you slow it down you can see how he maneuvers the saber with the string on it. No fancy editing skills but still resulting in some crazy effect.

@noodlehead2392
@noodlehead2392 7 жыл бұрын
Well, poi balls don't have weight. So in order to do all of those tricks they would need some type of bar to give it weight. As to spin it like that around there neck and hands they need some kind of counteraction force.
@lockesaban7717
@lockesaban7717 7 жыл бұрын
+Dustin Vo You obviously aren't using your head. With digital animation the only thing those poi balls need is green coloring. Use logic before wasting your blather in some half-baked conjecture to debunk my theory. In case I need to spell it out i will. That ball ONLY needs to swing in the air. Next step, create a sword on the green dot, now use animation to make it spin and swirl as it follows the green dot (the poi).
