Because people at the time were making fun of ekta kapoor. Her saas bahu serials were supreme popular but stupid. She started destroying the Indian serial secnario around first half of 2000s. She made some good serials before. But everything changes after kyuki This serial is criticism of that. Can you imagine sarabhai actually was not popular. It did not sustain that trp ratings because saas bahu was on the other side.

This show aired around 2004, but its satire about "kabhi saas kabhi naagin" Show is more relatable today than even then in 2004, kya nagin, nevala, maindhak dikhate rehte hai aajkal ke daily soaps... This show was way way ahead of it's time
