Coming back here after Jim's recent Mogg Monday. This was one of the greatest televised matches of MTG, and its a real shame that paper Magic basically died for the dumpster-fire which was the MPL (wow, it lasted 2 years!)

m0n57312633k Basically, R&D thought lingering souls was too good in standard, so they printed cards like Izzet Staticaster to stop it. Then, at the last minute, they decided they didn't want Deathrute Shaman to die to the lingering souls hate, so they gave it 2 toughness. Source: www.twitch.tv/scglive/b/458303326 @ 15:15:30

Reid should have won the first game. He missed a critical swing with nettle sentinel in the early turns when Jim had one Lackey.

Every time I watch Legacy Goblins I have to ask myself how this deck is a thing. It always just seems like a bad creature deck. Elves is faster, Taxes is a better control deck, and the deck doesn't have force.

+Harold Mills Part of the tournament rules include being able to ask a judge for access to the Oracle text on any card at any time, which is what he was doing.
