Originally: 1) Soul Hunters do extra damager against bio, which help Protoss deal with other races and allow them to be effective at dropping behind mineral line. Lore wise they were a branch of Dark Templars. 2) Phase Cannon mechanic shifts to Zerg building defense. 3) Tempest has shield against ground attack. 4) Twilight Templar required a High Templar and a Dark Templar to merge, supposedly had the ability to attack and cast spells, similar to Artanis's units in Co-op missions.
