Well that was because Zergs were OP at that time. Monster player + OP race = total domination. Now Zerg is a "weaker" race, definitely far from the OP broodlord/infestor days. Yet, to me, Serral is still at the top, and is getting better given the nerfs Zerg received

another thing would be the nerf on Raven years ago, changing the damage of the Heat Seeker Missile to Zero, basically making Raven a useless unit outside of TvT.

@@tigera6 the damage on the missile was just stupid, with 2 ravens they could kill an entire army of lings. The whole point of that skill is to reduce the armor so the other units can kill them easier.

@@OnigoroshiZero then what about Storm? Fungal? Disruptor shot literally kill everything but large units. I mean spell with AOE damage that kill small units arent that rare in the game. If they want to balance it, reduce the damage and/or the blast radius. To say the ability is OP while there are similar spell is just ludicrous.

I've never seen someone play like serral did that last game, conserve ravagers, drain medivac energy. this series was better than 95% of GSL. (except for dark vs rogues last match that was fucking insane)

-In the matter of Serral v. Clem, the court finds in favor of the audience: the true winner. -Dissenting opinions to be written by the haters, the chuds, and those in high diamond league. -As a matter of judicial record making, tanks are three supply in SC2. They are still two supply in SC1/BW (somehow another guy crawled into the Crucio tank crew and stayed there).

Court ordered addendum: in re "Ravens v Scans for detection," it's always important to remember that when a unit dies, that is value that can never be brought back. When an Orbital Command scans an area instead of dropping a M.U.L.E., no resources are lost - the only thing lost is the *acceleration* of the gathered minerals. Over a long enough time line, M.U.L.E. utility drops to 0.

For people that get dizzy by the camera spam or just find it uncomfortable, watching it in a smaller window helps a lot compared to full screen. Less taxing on your eyes and brain when you have the surrounding browser UI and desktop for visual support... or maybe lower the playback speed :-)

2:35 It's interesting to watch someone like Lambo play against Serral. I consider Lambo one of the smartest zergs out there. Lambo knows how good Serral is at reacting, so he often tries to take advantage of that by going for subtle mindgames to surprise Serral. Such as going for a roach allin, building warren in main, and then building a warren at the front a bit later, while denying scouting of the main, to make Serral think that it's a normal buildup with defensive roaches, and not an allin. The kind of smart plays that wouldn't work against a worse player.

Hi Jared, thanks so much for the background intro in the first few minutes of this game. I always know that Serral is the Goat, but didn't know exactly how he has done so. Your introduction is really helpful to me !

46:28 That creep spread is awesome. I know, Serral had games against pro terrans where his creep reached the terrans third base, but that was before the creep spread nerf and not against clem.

i just noticed "new" (to me anyway) serral tech. he uses his overlords like a wall of flesh in front of his 3rd in the 1st map. if he ever needs to retreat they can take fire for a little bit while he gets more reinforcements. crazy guy, so good

the thing you said about not understanding serral is interesting. I'm australian as well and even though I'm pretty good with accents i have a lot of trouble understanding him a lot of the time. Maybe learning english from australian accents encodes something that makes it hard to process the way he speaks.

I'm american, most english accents are fairly easy for me to get. Except for some weird New York accents and most southern accents. It's almost like those accents cause my brain to misfire and only hear gibberish. (yes there are some dialects in most countries that I will never get. (looking at you Scotland and Ireland......specifically)

Intresting. I'm from latin america (native spanish speaker) and serral's accent actually feels really clear o.o Most foreign accents feel easy to decode actually, but I struggle a lot with some specific accents from parts of the us 🤷‍♂️

Great cast! And that shit about multiple spellcasters is so true...Only a few pros can perform that multiple caster micro. So tired of watching my full energy Infestors die because I qued a fungal and it wasn't my closest caster or when my Vipers just fly forward like they do aa damage lol.

Thank you for the video! Unless you tried Cube Mod for the AOE 2 - you do not know what is hardcore "low graphics" setting. P.S. It is extensively used by some Finnish players, btw.

I wonder why serral and reynor insisted on doing ling bane every single game vs clem. The korean players who have won vs clem have used roach/ravager timings. Good to see Serral change things up a bit in this series.

Serral's brain boggles my mind. Even if he's not the best, what he does with the Zerg is mind-blowing. It's also his adaptability, micro-managing, calculating, relearning stuff. Most of all he still seems to have passion and drive to be the best. Even though he's been there and it was undeniable when he did it. Things changed after that. (just not him)

Yeah, I it really is. I do remember some games against raynor a few years ago where he played catchup the entire game, and he was incredibly good at it. I feel like this case was just different in that his army comp does not allow for terrible engagements to happen because the terran will just snowball into you
