My definitive playthough of the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection trilogy and Nova mission pack. Each mission video will be a walkthrough explaining and executing strategies to succeed and obtain most achievements on Brutal difficulty. All dialogues, cinematics, and story-related material will be at the end of each video.
In some cases I omit completing Mastery achievements that would require a separate playthrough detracting from a full showcase of the mission in question.
Achievements completed this video:
Seek & Destroy - Destroy an enemy Barracks, Factory and Starport in the Media Blitz mission during the sneak attack on Normal difficulty.
Blitzkrieg - Complete the Media Blitz mission on Hard difficulty in less than 20 minutes.

22:32 Actually, thors by default have the 250mm barrage cannon which is single target. The 330mm barrage cannon upgrade is AoE

You know those news segments are amazing. You saw Donnie's belief in Mengsk questioned and led to his breakdown in that moment. While Kate being the true journalist she is, saw that he couldn't continue and knew to move on. She really deserved that promotion. Also being the only one telling the unbiased news is a breath of fresh air.

But it wouldn't happen especially with mengsk's regime. We like to see it in game, the good and bad journalist/presenter, but in reality a lot of people would speak the truth, however the dictator wouldn't let them. That's why communist countries had and still have gulags

I remember watching all these SC2 Brutal videos you had from eons ago, glad to see you're updating it and playing this again. I hope we'll get an updated Mass Recall playthrough when all of SC2 is finished. Keep up the great videos man!

It's weird that they didn't use the original voice clip from Starcraft I in 18:30, considering they did just that merely two of Matt's missions ago.

Imo I did this mission first before Supernova just because the plot flows better. Great walkthrough as always Jay!

This is the one mission where I feel Tychus working for Mengsk is starting to become a bit of plot hole. I mean for all the others missions, it makes sense enough. Mengsk has only one shot at geting to Kerigan and geting Raynhor here is all part of the plan, so he's not going to spend his mole until it's really important. But here in this mission you're airing out a massive secrets that litteraly can shatter his whole empire and Tychus is riiight in the Odin. You'd think they'd at least throw a curveball with this. And his empire is certainely quick to accept it without much doubt for what could be, indeed, a fake message (especialy when the source atr known terrorists). Mind you, for a villain who is supposed to be charismatic and a master of propaganda, you think he would be better at handling this rather than blow up in front of a press conference. Shame Valerian doesnt have a comment about this, would have been interesting to hear.

Rather than devastating bases, I usually opt to go the route of taking away their resources gathering capabilities. It took me several tries to get the route and timing right, but it is possible to destroy all command centers and SCVs before the timer runs out.

this series is so good. i've been trying to redo the campaign on brutal and i might actually accomplish it. though the biggest accomplishment was beating "in utter darkness" on brutal. phew!

As inefficient as the Thor is, it shows up in professional gameplay on occasion. Always exciting to see one of the pros use it, albeit in moderation.

When i did play this mission, i understood from first sight that i have to destroy all scw's and command centres in the start of the mission. i restarted mission, and did that before timer ran out. ggez

Actually the Thor 330mm barrage cannon is NOT a single target ability, the upgrade changes it into an AoE ability

Charlie Vane is a character from a Starcraft 1 custom campaign that Jay played and got a liking to because of the character's personality

And then he made a fan theory that Charlie Vane faked his death and assumed "Matt Horner" as a pseudonym to start a new life. The theory was so popular that a custom map creator actually made a campaign about it.

@@roeyzfaigmanimiranda2038 Technically, it wasn't a custom campaign, it was an official expansion pack. An occasionally poorly-designed, amateurly-made, terribly voice-acted but charming because of it expansion pack, but an expansion pack nonetheless lol
