Ah really i can't get it to work

It does seem to randomly begin giving less sometimes. I dont have an explanation, but I'm glad you found it useful! I'd intended on including my graph in a video this week, but didn't have the time to present it satisfyingly as I've been away from my PC.

Definitely requires more practice due it not being just a few steps, but it is satisfying once you get it working and is about as effective.

​@@benstekar Originally, I numbered the tiles on a sheet of graph paper. Using a table of instructions of (X,Y) is much more straightforward

6-7 hours digging holes with a spreadsheet and plotted about a 12/12 grid and counted 3-4 times for each square until I mapped the numbers from 1-35 because it was at like 34 or 35 that the pattern repeats at the starting square. I figured with how much love people have put into mapping all the information in the game that when I found a hole, I wanted to do my part. Idk if mud farming is somewhere on the wiki, but whoever adds it is welcome to my information. (I also wanted to stunt on my friends who next started a farm with me so I could flaunt 2k daily starting income, bag upgrade day one? Yoink!) I appreciate the compliment and am happy to help!

Idk how I missed responding to you, but yes. I kinda made the video in a hurry and forgot to make sure I explained that there is a little bit of diminishing return and only a chance that one comes out of the ground each time.

On the standard Xbox One? If it has an alternate pattern, I will have to check it.

@@Nmdry I will do some retesting. Hopefully there isn’t some kind of set of seeds or generation that changes the pattern.

I would double check the full count and make sure I am not missing one somewhere. I have seen diminishing returns a few times where my likelihood falls after a few iterations for no reason. I'm not an expert, just found it. I should have cut over to my computer monitor with the spreadsheet of number counts. I'll put out a subsequent video that is both shorter and shows my grid then add it to the discription here later this week. It is pretty barebones because I stopped as soon as I found the initial pattern and its first repeat. I apologize that I don’t have all the answers, but I wish you luck in the future.

It can be a really good kick start to funding high tier crops and getting sprinklers and strawberries going. In multi-player it can be even better because salads are not necessarily required and saving you some money, though leaving the beach will reset the pattern.

It should also work in winter, but I have had some weird reports of it not working for everyone. In winter it should yield snow yams and winter roots. If you end up hitting a piece of clay instead of the food, you just keep going in the same spot until you hit the yam/root side of the pattern. I also once had someone claim that it doesn't work in multiplayer, but as long as they aren't hoeing at the beach, their actions won't affect you.

I would guess you’ve hit the back end of the cycle and restarting could possibly help unless you mean only 6-8 per 16 pieces hoed. I also wish there was a more solid farming method and better variety of income.

Dang. I will keep that in mind if I ever get one so I can do this as well. Does the PC version happen to work on it? If not, challenge accepted with results to come within the next 20 years.

I suppose I didn't include the way to start the exploit is to keep digging up a single spot and pickaxing it until you get clay and then begin, but if the pattern doesnt work to quickly go back to your starting point and wait for another clay because you may have caught the pattern part-way through. I got it working with the previous PC exploit already in mind, but I'm always curious how or why it might not work.

At first, go to the starting point or wherever starting point you want. Keep shoveling and using the pickaxe on it till you get a piece of clay, then follow the pattern
