Honestly his 8 heart event made me hold back my tears (impossible) Literally maxed out Alex's 10 hearts and here I am being a simp still talking to him everyday and giving him gifts. Currently working on making my farm pretty for when he moves in and finding my farmer's wedding tux. 🥰

When I first played Stardew Valley, I went to Sebastian at first. Alex was cocky and arrogant, so I didn't like him. However, as I got close to Alex, I realised that he is actually a good friend. I like that Alex apologised for being rude to the farmer in the beginning (yeah, Shane did the same, too). Moreover, despite having a rough childhood, Alex always tries to remain positive, and I like that in a guy. I may be biased, but I think among all the Bachelors and Bachelorettes, Alex is the one who has solid and meaningful character development. If you date/stay as a good friend with Alex, he will try to adapt and change for the better. It's like, Alex just becomes a totally different person from the cocky personality when we first met him.

The only thing I dislike is that I never saw the 8 heart event. In both my Alex playthroughs, it took me longer than Summer to get him to 8 hearts, but shorter than the next summer to decide to marry him.

Honestly even if i'm a straight guy (or am i?) I'll gladly be with alex till the end of my days... I like guys who accepts their own imperfections and most of all emotionally sensitive...guys like alex are worthy of being bent for hahaha

Although Alex suffer a lot, i think we should treat Linus the same as we treat Alex. Linus give up his wealthy life and give all his money to charity. I think almost everybody hate him. Just hear what he said in the Feast of the Winter Star.

Ngl i dont get whats with some peopel hating Alex. He goes through character arc starting as a dumb jock, but not only does he understand that he used to be rude to you, buuuut he even shows that he is just a softhearted himbo who takes care of his grandparents while dealing with his own baggage. I went into stardew complete unbiased as to who my character was going to marry, and I managed to end up choosing Alex, I love his character development and story even if alot of people tend to dislike him. In hindsight I wish I married him in one of my male saves as it adds even more development to his character, but either way I think he's very unappreciated in the community as a marriage candidate

Im so late but i immediately got married to him :") I have a quick opinion though; Sadly alot of people dont like him since he's considered as an arrogant douchebag at the start. Stardew valley is a game where you should invest into characters to see their backstories and changes (heart events) and as for alex he got a terrible first impression and i get why... but after his heart events i feel pity for him. He suffered a terrible past and id actually understand why he was acting like that in the start. Unlike characters who are "visibly" in a bad position to players(shane, sebastian, etc..) alex is one of those characters where you should invest into... alot. He eventually gets softer to you and sweeter. Even he apologized for being arrogant to the player in a cutscene, he's a fictional character but i felt really upset after learning his backstory. But once the player gets closer to him, i feel as if its a treasure to alex. I must admit his voicelines when the player is close to him is very sweet... i already married other spouses in different files and it hits different, the improvement of a character. Alot of people dont give alex 2nd chances but i do! No regrets whatsoever.

SDV 1.5 is too depressing for me to play. I don't know when CA changed it, but you used to be able to kiss your spouse when they were in bed before you joined them and they had a number of different lines they would say. One of Alex's was something like, "I bought a new pair of shorts today. I just thought you might want to know." with a blushy face. It was so adorable. We've been clamouring for more spouse content... I'm not sure why Eric too that out. Now marriage seems too robotic and dull to me, and I can't get into v1.4+.
