I thought this sounded a lot like Tatsuro Yamshita so I looked up who sung this and it said he tried to do his style in his city pop days and I gotta say he really nailed it.

That awkward moment when you’re surfing in space with an oversized cat, and some Japanese guy starts singing in the background (beautifully).

My favorite scene in Space Dandy. Perfectly illustrates what the show is trying to do off of this kickass animation and music. Made me feel a way I can't quite describe.

I swear Space Dandy was made to appear to have the most vain facade of a story just so they could turn around and hit you with phenomenal moments like this.

One of the most unexpectedly beautiful moments of any anime ever made.

It's incredible how the animators were able to capture what it would feel like being in Dandy's shoes in this scene. That moment when he's far enough away to gently sway back and forth while he watches an astounding sight unfold right in front of his eyes. His arms seemingly unconsciously rise up in the air in silent respect for the beauty of the sight. You can see the utter awe on his face, and especially in his eyes. The mother of all waves, indeed. I love how the episode simply ends right there, too. Because the ceiling has been broken in that episode's setting. There's just nothing more that could possibly be said or done to top what just happened. I love this series.

Space "City Pop" Dandy

Man, this anime is so god damned underrated!!!

This show introduced me to city pop. It's also probably my favorite comedy anime of all time. It's a shame Japanese record labels make it such a pain for westerners to discover great music like this on Spotify and such.

I low-key was okay if they ended the series with this scene. Still glad their was more though.

This Literally made me realize Some unexpectedly scenes can be One of the most legendary scenes in anime

This is straight up one of the best animes of all time. Best english voice over I have ever heard. So good that the only way to really watch this show is in english if you speak it. The art style, aesthetics, locations, ambience and just everything about the drawing/animation is just so amazing. Also the way I get people to watch this show is tell them its Johnny Bravo in space, equally incompetent main character with just amazing lines. Love Space Dandy forever

It's a show that is unique like no other, from every episode to every song on its soundtrack. It's just... dandy; and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
