Great acting on the part of the actor who played Kowalski. Convincing portrayal of a terrified soldier, and of a imperious extra-terrestrial.

I think someone had to die this early on in such a way. You can't really character build the goauld anymore than this. "I am your lord, I am your god, you will listen, you will obey or you will die".... I think if they left it anymore than another episode or two character building the goauld it would have started to get dry.

Didnt Kowalski "return" for 1 more episode though? You know the false/virtual reality mission based on Jack's memories from East Germany of some mission he had done there and that he had to try to go through that over and over again?

Want to know something very disturbing? IN the episode 2010 they briefly mention that Major General Hammond is mentioned to of died of a heart attack the episode was aired in 2001 and predicted his future death so close to when he died and its just mere mind boggling that they predicted how he would die 7 years before he actually died of a heart attack. And the episode took place in 2010... two years after his actual death. I hope I am not the only one who noticed this as I looked online and can't find any mention of this

Stargate has a very "US is good" propaganda vibe. In reality, you could be sure the roles would be reversed and any officer advocating to get rid of the alien would be at least demoted and excluded from the military for insubordination. This is too good of an opportunity to ever pass up.
@Thatslifebro_
@Thatslifebro_ 4 жыл бұрын
But SG-1 was not afraid to show US corruption from time to time. I mean the entire Kinsey/NID affair was thought up by corrupt, arrogant assholes with tons of political power that decided they should decide the worlds fate no matter if elected or not. In season 1 Hammond says "it is not the USA´s buisness to interfere in other countries affairs" and Oneill´s reaction was "Since when". Shure in the end they portrait the US and later the world as the good guys but they don´t ignore the fact some things are going very wrong.
@alphamone
@alphamone 3 жыл бұрын
@@Thatslifebro_ There's also episode of Atlantis when they get put on trial (for one of their more disruptive actions taken in the Pegasus Galaxy) and admit that their playing the other sides against each other to get out of trouble was highly unethical. Yeah, anything with military involvement will technically be propaganda, but it was able to be far more morally grey than many other productions (and have the characters admit to said greyness)

i don't agree with that. like mentioned, there's the whole NID/Trust thing going on so there's definitely a lot of bad in stargate US. it just seems that SGC happens to recruit good people with strong character and morals.

Stargate team members morals, are what the morals of all humans should be for the most part. Stargate did an amazing job of showing how we could be better than we are, which is a traditional science fiction choice to help people demand A better today and a better tomorrow.
