Hey Betty, there are one or two buttons on most behind-the-ear hearing aids which are setup by your practitioner. They might be set to change the volume on the aids or they could do other things. You would need to check how yours were customized for you. When aids use batteries then they can be turned off and on by opening and closing the battery door but with a rechargeable aid you usually hold down one of the buttons on the back for a few seconds to do this. This is by design and I have to assume it has something to do with not shipping individual lithium ion batteries all over the country and having so many providers doing it themselves in the office. Perhaps it is a safety issue.

Hi, I’m so sorry to hear that! You may be right, the wires could certainly be too short and that would cause them to pull out of your ears. The wires are really called receivers and come in lengths of 1-5. If your hearing aids are under warranty then the receivers are usually free to replace with a different size. You need to ask your provider for help. I hope that helps you!

This model and the vast majority of rechargeable hearing aids, must be sent in to the manufacturer to have the battery replaced. If it is under warranty there is no cost. Warranties are usually 1-4 years depending on the tech level and where you purchased it. I hope that helps!

Hi! The main part of that wire is actually the receiver (or speaker) which transmits the sound. The extra wire loop at the bottom is a retention hook that just helps to keep the hearing aid in your ear.

They can be sent in to Starkey for repair. If they are under warranty then it is free.

Hey guys, the first thing I would try is to clean the contacts in side the case with an alcohol wipe. The next would be to turn the hearing aid itself off and then back on. Some aids allow you to do this by holding down one of the volume buttons for 5-10 seconds, then do it again to restart. If neither of these correct the lights, it is time to take both the aids and the charger in to your provider.

Hi Frank, Are they custom made ear plugs from an impression of your ear? How old are they? Sometimes we need to make more than one set of impressions to get the fit just right. If they were custom made for you by an audiologist or a hearing instrument specialist, I would reach back out to them to let them know that the fit is not right yet. Also, over time your ear canal can change shape requiring new molds. It differs between people but 4-6 years is a common time frame to begin seeing some fit issues. I hope this helps!
