Fun fact: this was one of the very few US movies, that actually had a theatrical run in the Soviet Union back then. I watched it together with my father, and I remember being absolutely blown away by it. My father passed away a few years ago, and whenever I happen to catch this movie on TV, I always remember my father and 9-year old me in the dark movie theater, soaking up the movie magic. I love my dad very much and I miss him.

One of THE most beautiful songs ever written..So High..Deep, Moving, Soul-stirring, evocative, Healing, Uplifting to accompany a Movie that elicits all these things. If you have never seen it, don't miss this powerful and poignant Love story..One that signifies so much for the human race, including our own "possible" Origins..and the collective choices we are making now to create a new Destiny on Earth.

@GamingDad6310 ай бұрын
@@joshuatoro8977 The original is by Jack Nitzsche (available from Varése Sarabande) and is more synth based, including the "choir". What is played here is from the 2CD compilation album Greatest Sci-Fi Film Themes released by Union Square Music Ltd. Labeled Starman End Titles and performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Crouch End Festival Chorus and conducted by Nic Raine (yes, i know, lots of info but i threw it in here in case anyone was interested) So, this is the real thing. Live orchestra and live choir. And i'm not trying to take anything away from Jack Nitzsche. He made a beautiful piece, but this version made it even more beautiful.
@play2k20008 жыл бұрын
STARMAN is almost a genre in itself. The whole idea of Jeff cloning from a strand of hair before your eyes and developing basic human skills in a matter of moments was a groundbreaking sci-fi. effect. Those magic balls that came with the package just upped it a notch, and wow they did not disappoint. I had thought I was going to kill some time seeing this stupid movie named "Starman" that nobody even heard of when it came out. How it didn't bust records I will never know. And it never gets old.

The deer scene is not authentic. The deer would have been field dressed. All the internal organs removed. It would never have been transported on the hood of a car. The engine heat would have spoiled the meat.

This is beautiful! I am "happy crying"...after listening to this for the first time all the way through! I have stereo speakers with sub-woofer. OMG! I watched the movie on TV and heard the music faintly in the background (TV speakers). The Timpani (kettle) drums are gut-wrenching! To me, the last scene is identical to the last scene in "Ghost" where Demi is crying as Patrick bids farewell, and walks towards the light, as Unchained Melody plays. Same gut-wrench.
