This show was SO much better than X-Factor!! I remember the whole family watchin' this show, then Catchphrase and then Michael Barrymore's 'My kind of people'. They were the good ol' days! Ha

@Pugna I hear ya, but, it’s because of shows like X-Factor that shows like this no longer exist! I remember as a kid thinking it was some kind of magic when they walk through the door and walk straight back out in full make up! Haha but wow, I made this comment 7 years ago!! 😂😂

Me and my dad were literally just discussing this 😁 Our Saturday nights in. My sis and me didn't want to go out, we looked forward to spending the evening in with the rents. Our night started with Big Break, then Generation Game, onto Noel's House Party and finished with Stars in their Eyes or Casualty. We have literally just decided to do a rerun of the classics over Christmas. Have a makeshift "Saturday night in" watching tele....those were the days. None of this Love Island or Kardashian rubbish. ☺️☺️

I love how people are commenting as if this was a professional singing competition. For goodness sake, this is a show where you can go on and pretend to be your favorite artist and have some fun. I think this guy does a pretty decent job and i give him credit for even getting up there to begin with so please just stop all the hate, it is not worth it in the end. Hating on people for having fun and doing this shows what kind of human you are. Some of these people are actually pretty good.

I used to remember Stars In Their Eyes back in the 90s - such happy and innocent times. The show itself reflects that and much more of a nice and kind version of X Factor and BGT.

What is it with the haters on here? This was 20 years ago a very different time before X factor, pop idol and KZfaq. This show was a bit cheesy sure but that was the fun of it. You sound good too dude 👍🏻.

ted mckenna thanks mate. I was very nervous performing in front of cameras and a 300 strong audience back then so that affected me. I've been in bands since 98 as a result of my Stars appearance, play bass in a very good covers band now and cover songs on acoustic guitar including Oasis. Have a look on my channel!

Absolutely class mate! Didn't realise this was your own channel, was going to say you got everything spot on, even down to the little shuffle between lines, haha! Just wished there was a *tiny* bit more power behind the voice. Had no idea they chose the song for you though. Can't imagine Wonderwall winning the votes of many non-Oasis fans, or indeed even Oasis fans either for that matter. Then again I can't really speak for 1997. I would have wanted to do Live Forever all day long. As you were.
