Ashley McLean It my cities zoo. She was there and oddly enough Shar Jackson was there. She had a full entourage and someone carrying an umbrella for her. Very snotty, while Aaliyah was just like a regular person. She laughed because I asked my sister "don't you want Shar's autograph?" and my sister mumbled "That nobody" and Shar heard her and rolled her eyes, LOOL!

Aaliyah appreciated her fans. She was not an industry driven artist. She always was humble and regular it's what sets her apart from others. I think even she wasn't a "singer/actress" she still would have been successful no matter what.

Aaliyah was such a beautiful person she is my role model, she is the reason why I want to sing. What drew me to her is her originality and she was so different, she was so sweet. she died 7 months before I was born I wish that could've met her. +lecappuccinostudios they always do that meaning that no matter wat artist like beyonce and ciara level achieved they always put that Aaliyah did it first which is why on every aaliyah, ciara and or beyonce video they always have to put "ABCs" guess its in their nature to bring down other artist and tryna school certain fans but at the end of the day all of those women got to were they are dont matter who came first all it matters is they exist and givin us good music to vibe too dnt knw why they cant accept that

I will never forget the first time I saw her, she was performing the song" IF at First you don't succeed, Pick yourself up and try again.." I was watching with my children, on MTV, were mesmerized by her beauty ,talent and presence.I remember feeling that this girl is special, and she reminded me of my own at the time 17 year old daughter who has beautiful qualities like Aaliyah had, I am so sorry she has left this world, but happy that she is in Paradise. I was also 15 when both Aaliyah & Brandy came out, & they were both 15 to, I loved them from the start. Aaliyah didn't say her age yet at the time she came out, but Brandy did, so I knew she was my age. I wanted them so bad to do a song together, & then when Brandy & Monica got together for a song I was hoping next it would be them with Aaliyah. & this is the first time I saw Brandy saying she wishes her & Aaliyah worked together. I still love Aaliyah, as well as Brandy & Monica of course, the 3 young girls who came out in the 90's. I wish Aaliyah was still here, imagine all the music & movies she would have out now. She was so young when she passed & left us far to soon. It's just so sad.

Love what Brandy had to say. It is a pity we never got a proper collab with them both. Guarantee if her label hadn't blocked the idea of Missy Elliott producing "Never Say Never", there may very well indeed could've been an Aaliyah collaboration. Alas like the Tootsie Pop commercial, the world will never know.

Aaliyah opened doors for many solo artists to come thru the music industry n be different And she was awesome. I was truly a huge fan of hers and to this day no one can replace her and if she was alive she would be #1 female artist...Beyonce would have had to take backseat. Honestly back then Aaliyah was bigger than destiny child and Beyonce by herself as a solo artist. Aaliyah paved way for the Bey n many other female artist. RIP Aaliyah

Nah Destiny's Child was way more popular hate to say it but Aaliyah was not an international star she was only well known here in America on Urban Radios she never truly made that Pop crossover like Beyonce has done over the years. Destiny's Child was international they were urban and pop and known across the world. Aaliyah didnt get tha recognition until after her death.

I’m British and we know who Aaliyah is so please stfu Aaliyah was wayyyy bigger than destiny child she had been in the industry longer and was already a established artist meanwhile destiny child was just starting out and as as for Beyoncé she was just another member of a group.

I remember being 7 and wanting to meet her so bad that I started writing an email on my grandparent's computer asking her to come to my birthday party... I was so devastated when my mom told me she died and I didn't believe it until I went into my mom's room and saw it on the news, I cried for like a week and stayed in my room listening to Rock the Boat on repeat. Then when I Miss You aired on 106 & Park I listened to that for like a month on my portable CD player. I can honestly say my dreams of being an entertainer with her influencing me died with her. It's so weird but so true.

“She was the sweetest person” true like I only watched some KZfaq videos of her behind the scenes and interviews, but it shows that she is an especially sweet person because of her interaction with other people, and way she smiled was very wholesome. Aaliyah truly was a good artist, she wasnt a typical idea of a female singer and she was very inspirational. To this day, I can still sing along to her music and feel like I'm hearing it for the first time :)

There will never be another Aaliyah or anyone like her. She died in August 2001 then September 11th happened. I was late for my political science class on September 11th 2001 my Senior year in high school. Aaliyah's self titled cd was playing in my 98 VW Golf the song playing was "We Need A Resolution" walked into my class and the announcement was made over the school intercom that day. Lost my cousin and best friend in The September 11th attacks. And aaliyahs album seriously helped me deal.

All your true fans, are lost without you I still get sick to my tummy when I think of how you past, I try to remember you the way you were before; you departed from the earth to heavenly realms......but why still.....Why did she have to go so soon.

Well me & Aaliyah around the same age she is 1 year older then me. But I was a big fan of hers & still is in 2020. We had the same style of dressing. & things Common in common. She was such a pretty lady i feel in love with her music & the way she carried her self. I brought Aaliyah shirt books & also posters & all her cd. I will always be her biggest fan forever. & everyone who really knows me in life. & also my family. Knows how much of a big fan i am of hers. I wish she was still here with us in 2020. I still listen to all her music & poster on my Facebook pg all the time. I will never for get her. She is the best. & will always be the best in my life. Rest in heaven Aaliyah u maybe gone. But ur Memory is still alive, 😢😞😇🙏🏾🥰 columbia sc
