I was also 15 when both Aaliyah & Brandy came out, & they were both 15 to, I loved them from the start. Aaliyah didn't say her age yet at the time she came out, but Brandy did, so I knew she was my age. I wanted them so bad to do a song together, & then when Brandy & Monica got together for a song I was hoping next it would be them with Aaliyah. & this is the first time I saw Brandy saying she wishes her & Aaliyah worked together. I still love Aaliyah, as well as Brandy & Monica of course, the 3 young girls who came out in the 90's. I wish Aaliyah was still here, imagine all the music & movies she would have out now. She was so young when she passed & left us far to soon. It's just so sad.

Aaliyah opened doors for many solo artists to come thru the music industry n be different And she was awesome. I was truly a huge fan of hers and to this day no one can replace her and if she was alive she would be #1 female artist...Beyonce would have had to take backseat. Honestly back then Aaliyah was bigger than destiny child and Beyonce by herself as a solo artist. Aaliyah paved way for the Bey n many other female artist. RIP Aaliyah

Nah Destiny's Child was way more popular hate to say it but Aaliyah was not an international star she was only well known here in America on Urban Radios she never truly made that Pop crossover like Beyonce has done over the years. I was so devastated when my mom told me she died and I didn't believe it until I went into my mom's room and saw it on the news, I cried for like a week and stayed in my room listening to Rock the Boat on repeat. Then when I Miss You aired on 106 & Park I listened to that for like a month on my portable CD player. I can honestly say my dreams of being an entertainer with her influencing me died with her. It's so weird but so true.
