Ik it's an unpopular opinion but Starset's debut album Transmissions(2014) has to be one of the best albums of this century so far. They may not be groundbreaking structure-wise but dammit almost every song is done so good.Even if you don’t react to it,please listen to the album in your own time.

But I realize things could be so much worse. My kids could have been left in a vegetative state or in such bad shape life would be horrible. So I thank God for his mercy and look forward to seeing my kids again someday. God bless you Alex and thank you for sharing.

I have some dark years behind me and in that time Starset released new music, it always felt like they knew where I was going trough and it felt that atleast one person (or in this case band) knew my feelings and that gave me comfort. Starset is my number one band, they helped me, always will and I hope you will listen to some more songs of them!

Starset has gotten me through a lot. My favorite band is Linkin Park but ever since Chester passed there was a big void left in music for me and Starset was one of the few bands that kinda helped fill that void. They are no where near the scope of LP obviously but I just find their music comforting and relatable in a lot of the same ways. Honestly every album is amazing from them and I highly suggest listening to more from them. A lot of their stuff is linked together and has a story to it. Especially the latest two albums

That journal entry perfectly describes how I've been feeling lately, and honeslty my demon is my constant struggle with overthinking every single little thing and I often find myself sinking into that void to the point where I become a recluse and push everyone away like Pattinson's interpretation of The Batman is kinda the best visual representation I can give. And it sucks because I know I got bitter and rageful but not only that I just feel so alone right now and honestly it's like I am breaking down both mentally and physically. But it get's harder when my depression sets in and it's kinda hard to put a smile on my face when my mind is going through a 100 different things all at once and there is only one person who has that power to cheer me up and that's my best friend whether we're talking to one another or playing video games with each other but things have gotten so complicated with us because we were caught in this place between love and fear due to the distance between us with her being in Germany and myself being here in SoCal and it took us a year to talk to each other then she told me she moved on but I can't because as corny as this sounds she is first and foremost my best friend but she is also the love of my life, my other half, and my partner in crime. She knows me better than I know myself. She knows what I like, what I love, what I hate. She support my passions and tolerate my faults. She was always there for me. And it’s not always about what we say, or what we do because alone she is enough. With her cute and wholesome smile, laugh, and our friendship damn even our relationship it’s more than I deserve. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and I know we will come out of this bump in the road stronger than ever but now we are taking a 3 to 4 month break to figure things out again which hey is fine but I keep wishing things were different but not only that I just wish that I can pull myself out of this dark void I'm in but it's songs like this and the long defeat by Thrice that keep me going and keep me fighting every single day despite all the shit that life throws at me

I heard this song when it came out in 2013. It just spoke right through me and, since then, I became a fan of Starset. I can relate myself with these lyrics a lot. Every now and then I do the same as you: I write the thoughts that are twirling inside of my mind, somewhat like an exorcism. I wrote a bunch of things in the past years, trying to put all of "my demons" out of me. Music and words have been my companion in this struggle while I'm still surviving. And Starset is a big part of it as well. Please do more Starset reactions. You will not regret it.

Thanks for picking this one Alex; it's a favorite of mine. I've struggled with Depression (clinical, not just "low mood") since I was young, so this song speaks to me. I wouldn't wish Depression on anyone. Half of my days are "normal." I wake up, get going, do what I need to do, and I have regular emotions. I never thought I would be so grateful for those days when I was younger. The other half of my life, I wake up and I feel it. There's a weight, and I'm overcome with disappointment, because I know that it will be another day where positive emotions are transient, intangible-I don't feel satisfaction, or warmth, or purpose. Every obstacle becomes insurmountable, even though I logically know that if I put one foot in front of the other, I will succeed eventually. It's like you have no control. It's so hard to get out of bed. But I pretend. I pretend to truly feel those transient emotions, because I hate seeing my own disappointment reflected in the faces of the people I love. They know about my Depression, so if I don't pretend, they can see it, and I know they are disappointed *for* me, not disappointed *in* me, but the fact remains that I inflict this emotion on them. I have ambitions. I have goals. On those days, it all seems so far away, like I will never reach them, and there's nothing I can do about it. I've never been suicidal. Life just becomes so hard to face when I can't even enjoy my favorite foods, or my favorite games. It's like... you know how it feels when you wake up behind the curve, tired from the get-go, and then work is hectic, and you just have that mountain of stress building on your shoulders until you leave? You wake up with that feeling, but it lingers and builds no matter what you do-even the joy of getting off work and having the whole evening to yourself just doesn't factor in. All day, you think about all the things you need to do, all at once. And you don't want to do a single god damn thing. You don't even want to sleep at the end of the day, because there's no KZfaq in your sleep which means you have to sit with your thoughts, and the thoughts that swirl through your mind don't bear thinking about. Always negative. Always tearing you down. It's not hard to backslide until you're miserable to be around. I don't know why I'm typing this; maybe I felt emboldened when you shared your thoughts. Few understand these feelings. People say they do, but they don't. The thing I hate most about my Depression is that there's no escape. I'm locked inside a cage with it. Things ebb and flow, they do get better, but even at the best of times I still feel like I'm talking to people through the chain links. I see their world, but I can't participate in it, not really. And I don't blame them. This sickness of the mind is maddening-most people simply can't swim in those depths, because they've never had to. So they don't come sit with me in the cage, or try overly hard to help me out of it. I hear empty platitudes quite often. I appreciate the gesture, because they are trying in their way, but they just don't quite understand how useless it is. I'm so incredibly thankful for the friends I've made over the years. They understand me. They know there's nothing they can say. They know that the only thing that can possibly help is to take me new places, to show me new movies, to give me new experiences, to trigger that odd feeling of *discovery.* I live for that feeling. Apart from intimacy and sex, that feeling of novelty is the only thing that can truly coax me out of my cage. Sorry, I'm sure that's TMI. Anyway, I think that was longer than ten minutes. Stay real, Alex.

Found this song years ago and can't remember how many times I cried to it. You should also react to "my heart I surrender" and "love, lust and liars" by I Prevail. Matches the energy really well.

My first ever concert was a Starset concert in Fort Smith. It was November 7th last year and it was easily the best day of my life. Their entire output is phenomenal, but one I've been obsessed with in the past few weeks is Disappear

Thank you for that. I started writing again. My best friend of 7 years dropped me for a reason I don't understand. The darkest time of my life, he helped me get through it. Now he's the reason for the second darkest part of my life. This was one of our songs. I'm glad you can let a little bit out by writing about it.

After seeing the first part of the video, I want to tell that your channel (and you & everybody else here) mean alot for me. Music is really big and important thig to me, but i havent yet met anyone irl who cares about it as much as I do. And seeing all you here talk about artists and bands you care about is in a way very meaningful and releaving experience for me, not even so sure why, I just really like this community, so so much.

Please do more Starset reactions. The lore they put into their music is fascinating and goes so well with the beautiful songs they write. They are so underrated and deserve all of the love they get. The music they create is so wonderful and touching.

Hey, only just finding this reaction vid, but thanks for sharing that powerful piece of writing. I feel ya. We live in a dark world already, and it can be incredibly difficult to deal with not only that but also the darkness from within. I've seen vids from you in the past, and always enjoyed them. Know that you *are* an inspiration. I have no doubt that darkness will find us again, I have no doubt that we will continue to struggle, but I also don't doubt that we both have a far larger impact on the world than we realize. Keep on fighting, my comrade in arms. May glory and true happiness be waiting for us at the end.

When I first got with my girlfriend. We went to see Starset live. She looked at me and said do you understand this song. I told her yes, she said to me this song is me and you right now. This has stuck with me for the past 8 years. I know every lyric by this band now seems so weird how these guys have wrote so many songs that go perfectly with our relationship.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts before the video. It’s what makes your channel the best because at the end of the day, you are real to us, the listener and people who watch you. My demons are over 40 years in the making and the wounds too deep to share. Besides there’s not enough time to release them all in one comment. Just know that I appreciate you and your channel. You bring a smile to my face every day and I’m thankful for that.

So awesome to see you discover Starset, Alex! I've been listening to their music ever since their first album debuted and every album since then has been a unique, cinematic experience to listen and grow to. I hope you check out more of their music, not only are their lyrics poetic and thought-provoking but there's so many layers and nuance to their overall sound and composition as well, they are definitely one of the most distinctive bands out there, and so underrated. Some of my personal favorite Starset tracks to recommend are: Ricochet, Starlight, Gravity of You, Everglow, Halo, Carnivore, Telescope, Antigravity, Trials, Perfect Machine, The Breach, Otherworldly, Icarus, Earthrise, Leaving This World Behind. Also, I appreciated listening to your journal piece. Writing can be such a cathartic tool in helping to work through things or self-reflect. I was intrigued that you wrote about "a new horizon"...Starset's latest album is titled HORIZONS :) All the best to you 💙

Starset's individual songs are bangers for sure but it hits different when you listen through their albums in order and realize they all have ties to other songs and somewhat tell a story. When I first listened to Transmissions I was blown away by the tie ins from each song to the next. I have some favorites but for emotionally impacting songs and to show their range "Diving Bell" and "Everglow" are nice changes to their typical space rock vibes. Awesome band that deserves way more attention.

Haven't got to the react part yet. Just wanted to say I appreciate you sharing your personally written journal with everyone. I know it's super relatable to so many people. Even when sometimes it doesn't feel applicable to me personally, I'm really glad how often you try to just throw out real and genuine (plus unrelated to content) compassion and understanding out to your viewers. You're a good dude and I love how much you care to be real with your views. Respect!

Alex…. I think it was very courageous of you to allow us to hear what you wrote. I can’t tell you how many of us feel the things you do, or have those same thoughts every day. It does not matter what kind of life you live, everyone struggles, but the most satisfying thing is knowing that you are not alone. If this helps you, I say continue, there is no shame in showing vulnerability. You are an amazing person, and YOU can get through it too… stay positive & lots of love my man ❤️ #POWERWITHWORDS

Bro, thank you for sharing your story. I discovered your channel just under a month ago. I have been watching your reactions almost non-stop since then. In the summer of 2020 my fiancé got pregnant. I will be turning 43 years old in just a couple of weeks. I have never had children, although I always wanted to be a father. It was an absolute miracle to me when I found out that I was going to be a dad. It was even more of a miracle when we found out sh was carrying twins. A boy and a girl. I was the happiest man on earth. Fast forward 23 weeks and my fiancé woke up not feeling right. We rushed to the hospital and my twins had an emergency delivery. They were flown to a specialty hospital and they fought to survive. We spent every minute of our time worrying and stressing about our children. The day my daughter left us the entire world broke... My baby girl lived for 31 days. I was completely wrapped around her tiny finger. Our son went to be with his sister 15 days later. I never fought with depression prior to this experience. Even though a failed marriage of 19 years I did not suffer such depression. I was watching some of my favorite videos on KZfaq one day and your reaction to a Metallica song showed up as a suggestion. I have enjoyed watching as you discover more and more artists so much that I have renewed my own fascination with music and the way it touches people's lives. I have been a Mobile DJ for over 20 years and I got involved because of my love for the way music touches lives. I lost that feeling for a long time, but YOU have helped me to find that joy again. Thank you so very much my friend!

Great band. Seen them in Abilene Texas and they were awesome live. Stay strong Alex. I feel the same way you do. Every since my wife passed away February 22 2021. Things just don’t seem the same. I’m finding it real easy to just stay away from everything and everyone. Plus I live on disability and can’t work. So I spend a lot of time home alone. It’s really easy to fall into that dark hole. Thank you being you brother. Stay safe
