Glad to find your channel. Q. The big silos/tanks on the right, what's in them? Is it fuel? Are they in danger from the flames on liftoff?
@RocketVan Жыл бұрын
Those are the liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen tanks. The liquid nitrogen is used for flushing tanks, pre-chilling, pressure testing, etc. The liquid oxygen is an oxidizer for the fuel. I'm not exactly sure if they are in a hazardous area during take-off, but seeing that they were there for the first orbital test flight, the damage they received was sub-optimal. They may end up moving them in the future. The methane fuel tanks are on another side of the orbital launch mount; those may have had some fuel left in them. We’re glad you found our channel, We will try to do a video about this.

Could they build the flame diverter down expecting that it might/will flood and when they launch the water will be just blown out of the trenches? Or with the rate at which the rocket engines are firing... would it still be like hitting a concrete pad and causing some of the same issues?

If you’ve ever seen a deluge system in action, lots of water is used. So if the water is blown out, they would try their best to pump it back in. With the flame diverter some of the same issues may be caused, but if so, they will be severely reduced. After extensive research, I will try to do a video covering this topic.
