Alma
is a village located in Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada.
Early Settlement:
Alma's history is closely tied to the early European settlement of the region. The area was initially inhabited by the Mi'kmaq Indigenous people before the arrival of European settlers.
19th Century Development:
In the 19th century, the village began to take shape as a result of economic activities such as logging and shipbuilding. The abundance of timber in the surrounding areas contributed to the growth of these industries.
Shipbuilding Era:
Alma became known for its shipbuilding industry, taking advantage of the timber resources available in the region. The shipbuilding industry played a significant role in the local economy during this period.
Fundy National Park:
Alma is located near the entrance of Fundy National Park, which was established in 1948. The park encompasses a diverse natural landscape, including rugged coastline, dense forests, and the iconic Bay of Fundy. This has brought tourism to the region, contributing to Alma's economy.
Tourism and Fishing:
The Bay of Fundy is famous for having the highest tides in the world. Alma, being situated along the bay, has become a popular destination for tourists who come to witness the tidal phenomena. Fishing, both commercial and recreational, is also an important aspect of the local economy.
Modern Era:
In recent years, Alma has continued to rely on tourism, particularly as a gateway to Fundy National Park. The village offers accommodations, restaurants, and services to visitors exploring the park and the surrounding natural attractions.

Nice job Robert. Loved the two-season tour of Alma. Your fly-by of the fishing boat was very cool. I would enjoy a visit there, the location looked beautiful. Loved the history in your description. Well done my friend and Happy New Year. Daryl

Great video! My wife and I visit Alma as much as we can every summer! It was nice to see the contrast between summer and winter in the video. It certainly stands out from other drone videos of the village.

Wonderful memories of Alma. It was our gateway to Fundy National Park growing up as a kid...made our way camping there many times. We knew that once we reached Alma, the long drive was over and the fun was about to begin. Always a stop for ice cream both coming and going! Awesome!! Bruce and Otis
