Welcome to the West coast!! We have sailed to Alaska out of Seattle 3 times, though from Pier 91, a little North of 66. You will thoroughly enjoy Alaska as long as you dress for the weather. It is surprising how many people do not as you will see. Take some time, if you can, to explore the ports on foot. Take the tram up Mt. Roberts in Juneau. Visit Creek Street in Ketchikan. When in Skagway ride the bus up to Car Cross and take the train back down. Looking forward to your videos so we can relive our cruises. Enjoy!!

Thanks Chris, I recently applied for a casino cashier position on the royal Caribbean, I'm still in the early stages but you're helping my anxiety a lot with these videos explaining everything and showing your experiences😁😁

My husband and I have been thinking about going on a cruise to Alaska. We haven't booked anything yet since I've been keeping track of what's going on. We will be going on the cruise from Seattle and then Alaska. It's for our 50th anniversary. Our anniversary is on October 30th. Since there isn't going to be cruises going to Alaska in October, it will be in August. I've been watching Dons channel to see what's happening with Canada. Before Covid hit we booked one that has 2 nights in Seattle, then Canada and then Alaska. I'll be watching your videos to see what's happening. I can't remember which cruise we booked at that time. My husband wants to see the railroad and the glaciers. The first cruise we took was for our 20th anniversary and we didn't know anything about cruising. That cruise was a 3 night and 4 day. We learned a lot about what we liked and didn't like. That cruise was a party cruise. We aren't drinkers and our daughters at the time was married with kids. They would have liked that. We did enjoy the cruise and it was a good learning experience. After talking to a few people they suggested the Alaskan cruises. A few months before covid stopped everything. We were supposed to be on the 11-12 day cruise towards the end of May. We did get reimbursed thankfully.. We asked a number of friends who has gone on the Alaska cruises which company we should book our cruise with. Almost everyone say to cruise with Royal Caribbean and Princess. The cruise we booked our cruise was Royal Caribbean I think. I'm going to get ahold of Don and Tony and Jenny. Anyhow, I'm very much going to watch your vlogs since that's what we are planning on going this summer. I told my husband that since cruises have been up and running, that we should try to book our cruise for this summer.

Yay! Congratulations! Our first cruise after the pandemic was the Alaska cruise from Seattle last September. Been to Alaska 5 times and never got tired of it. Hope you enjoy your assignment to that part of the world! Oh, if you are in Juneau, go to the park and have some Filipino BBQ skewers. Apparently a favorite for the ship crews. The best!

You will also get lots of good content on your disembark/embark/turnaround days (especially during the spring & summer) in Seattle. Lots of festivals, etc., plus all the touristy sites in and around town. Glad you’re back onboard a ship! Can’t wait for all the future vlogs!

I would like to know how the process of going from contract to contract goes. Do they offer you choices of ships for your next contract? Can you request to remain on the same ship? If you do have choices, why do/did you choose what you do/did? Look forward to your vlogs!

It’s great you are assigned to a Quantum class ship again. It won’t take you long at all to find your way around. We were on the Ovation in early 2019 for a Honolulu-Vancouver cruise. From how you described the Odyssey, probably the biggest difference is the main dining room. On the Ovation there are the 4 smaller dining as opposed to the one big one. Enjoy your new contract and I hope you get to do some exploring in ports during the summers. Alaska is beautiful. We are headed there again on the Millenium in August.

Yay!!! Last time I saw the ship it was shutting down for the winter, everyone was a bit sad, they had just restarted Ovation, and now they were suddenly shutting it down (since Australia season was cancelled). The crew was incredible that week. I’m so happy it’s restarting, again, and I can’t wait to say hello to you in September!!!

We were on Ovation when the world stopped in March 2020. Our 12 day cruise was shortened to 5. Ovation is a stunning ship and I cannot wait to see some more of your vlogs. Thank you.

That’s same port in Seattle that my cruise ship departed from and docked when my family and I went on a cruise to Inside passage of Alaska in 2007.

Yay!! It'll be so interesting to see all around Alaska! I've only been to Delta Junction and Fairbanks. And no we don't have to lug our suitcases through the corridor they bring them to the room for us. If I remember correctly for disembark you can take your stuff off yourself or have the crew take it the night prior and pick it up when you get off.

Welcome to Seattle. I am very happy you are going to Alaska. I have cruised there three times. Please keep in mind that during your months in Alaska the weather will be cool, warm, the skies will be cloudy, very clear and there will be times of light drizzle and some rain. In fact, all of these may occur on the same day. I challenge you to understand what did after being disappointed. Mother nature is providing you with ever changing views. Tell yourself all of the different weather is beautiful in its own way! Once I did I appreciated the beauty and grandeur of Alaska. You may want to share this thought with your fellow crewmembers and guests when appropriate. Be well my friend.

The crazy thing is that I started watching your vlog a little bit before we went on our cruise on Odyssey. It was actually the last cruise on your prior contract. As it happens, our next cruise is out of Vancouver on Ovation (in May). Wishing you the best as you start your next contract. Based on the number of tours that are sold out, it is looking like a very full ship. A far different story than our one on Odyssey.

Really wanting to go on ovation of the seas when it comes back down under to Sydney, we miss her.

I join Royal Caribbean Navigator of the seas next month and they have me arriving in Los Angeles the day before my flight arrives at 6:30 am and I'm coming from Australia, I'm surprised they're not having me arrive the day of considering my flight arrival time.
