So ends the Startend Apex journey... For someone who doesn't play and doesn't watch Apex, I did not expect myself to become so invested in this, but the interaction of Suisei, Towa and Aqua together feels just that special somehow. The slight hints of Sui-chan's emotions at the end hit like a truck... I definitely need some emotional recovery time, (and also some time to clip Ui-mama's latest horror game stream), but there are a couple of Startend clips from Custom Scrim Days 1, 4 and 6 that are done but in need of QA that probably will continue to come out over the next couple of days. There are still many Aqua-Towa-Sui moments from Days 4, 6, and Match Day itself that I haven't touched or started on yet and it will be a while before they can be done so I wonder if people would still want to see them many days after the event is already over...

They tried their best. Towa's been a great leader and since she has experience in several tourneys previously she knows how it feels, Aqua's desire and how she finally able to play in a team is also a great thing! Also Suisei quick improvement on Apex within the short period is also amazing, she's also the mood booster for the team. Its okay to let the feelings out in the end ^^ they are a cool team with a great chemistry

@@toxicwaste7087 the previous days were training. This was match day and the only matches that "matter". They get points based on position and kills, so final ranking has to be calculated post-game. Towa really is a good leader. She lead the conversation when the other two are down at the end of the tournament. Suisei mute the mic so fans can't hear her crying and aqutan also didn't say much either at the end. But I think the three of them playing is really entertaining.

I feel that Suisei has always been a very emotional person. However, she takes it upon herself to make sure everyone enjoys themselves, both the talents and the viewers. Even back during Coco's graduation, she only cried in the Karaoke stream after the graduation. I think the only time she truly broke down was when she felt she disappointed everyone by not releasing a new original during her time in INNK.

true! she also have a 'bad luck' in events like these(flashback to MC Sports Fest 2020 and 2021 Mario Kart tourney). Hoshimachi Suisei is one of that hard to show emotional type of person (Like of Botan or Sora-sama). Seeing this bring me back in time, the time where she still a diamond in rough (Suisei as indie V-tuber). She often hide her emotion behind that radiant energetic personality of her. But there will be some moment that her energy gone down and she will show that emotional side of her, the thing is Suisei's career path is one of the thing I and maybe a lot of fan observe for a long time she has a lot of hard time and even on a verge of quitting. Still she never give in to that, her light maybe sometime get dimmer but she will shine back in no time and shine brighter than ever before. In conclusion Hoshimachi Suisei is indeed an inspiration person she do whatever she dream of even it sometime put her down but the kind of spirit only few can have the strength to take a hit, gone down, and rise back again and I for once enjoy a lot of her moment I hope we will se more of this unusual group call StarEnd to do something again in the future.

It is not difficult to catch that Suisei was having hard time yesterday. She was in clutch and last man standing position several times where she had to wipe enemy teams and revived teammates. Very difficult. She also undoubtedly put very hard work to keep up with Aqua and Towa, as noted by Hal, casters, Matsuri, and Astel. While she is the mood maker of the team, it is expected that she will become overwhelmed in the end. I will forever love and support this comet. She defied another expectation. What an inspiration.

I remember watching this live. They were talking normally and when Aqua asked if they should close the stream they started reflecting on the tournament and suddenly the atmosphere changed. All 3 went super quiet, Sui-chan was constantly holding back her tears and Aqua constantly responded with "hmm" in a very calm and thoughtful way. And when someone said something there was often a long silence afterwards (which is not present in this clip because it was cut out). I think this is what makes Vtubing very special. There is often lot's of fun and action but sometimes there are also moments like these where everyone suddenly become very quiet and emotional. Because behind their character they are still human after all

StartEnd journey is really long yet short at the same time. I really love the Apex Streams last week full of funny stuff and chaos too. We all know that Aqua would be one of the killing machines on this tournament and also she said that she hates wingman because she can't aim on it but she literally pop off on the scrims with wingman causing their team won 2 times in a row on scrims, her wingman is just insane. On Towa, she played couple of tournaments now and her IGL really improves a lot and one of the surprising moments of her shot call was her telling Aqua not to go down on the final ring that call really shocked everybody and its really amazing also her 1v3 dome fight under the house is so insane ngl. Then lastly Suisei, her improvements is a monster while she's playing with her team her improvements are so fast in just couple of weeks and also her Rampage is really good. Overall they are really great and they really improves a lot even though they lost on the tournament they did they're very best to win and didn't hesitate. While sure, its a bummer that they didnt end up placing nearly as well as they wouldve liked to in the actual tourney, I still hope that they all feel proud of themselves since I think the days of scrims beforehand have more than proved the worth of this team as a top level threat. Its just a bit unfortunate since the amount of pressure on this team REALLY was pretty high with both Suisei+Aqua never having competed in a tourney before in addition to the knowledge that this will almost certainly be their first and last chance. Not even to mention that just how well they were doing in scrims may have actually made the pressure worse since it set such high expectations for them to live up to.

I feel bad for these three, like for real. They did a great job. Props to them. I know how hard they practice, making time to join the scrims everyday despite their tight schedules. Then again this is Aqua and Suisei's first tourney, the pressure might get onto them, understandable. Suisei is really new to this so it is completely understandable. Towa, she's experienced but there is only so many things that she can do as a support player. Also, despite Aqua being a master, she's a solo master, she's not used to play in a team environment, if you watched the scrims, she's often just picking off some people by herself which resulted in high kill counts for herself. This kind of tourney favors team with great chemistry rather than a team with one person with high level individual skill. The next part of my comment is basically me being an asshole. If you only want to read the good part, then dont read it. I just want to say it after bearing this for so long. Gotta say sorry first because I might sound like an asshole here, maybe I am. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I am an asshole for this, but here we go. I also lowkey happy that they didnt end up getting high placement. Why? Simple. Aqua's fans. Aqua is extremely good, I know. But man, can yall chill? Like literally there are so many better players out there, and it's shown by the result. I often see some Aqua's fans in the kirinukis (both EN and JP) somehow downplayed some other Masters' ability and even overhyped her because she's a Solomas while those other Masters are playing in a team to get to Master. Then again, those things are not good to be considered as a gauge for their skills in a teamwork-heavy tournament like this. Imo, it gave Aqua too much pressure instead. Also, the last thing, I will say this as a fan of certain graduated Master Vtuber (which is also Towa's close friend, if you know you know), I like Aqua but you all --that most likely do not play Apex, yet still overhyped her and downplayed other vtubers' skills-- are annoying lol.

ngl some people even call me my statement is not making sense when i said like even if they win on scrim doesn't mean they win on tournament. anything can happen. there also that agree and call me only watch clip and yes i did watch clip but at the same time that clip also show their standing, kill, damage and also their playstyle. the comment i take also not one person, its everywhere to make it like i believe in it. for example like vgorilla, people said aqua can kill vgorilla but i heard on comment like vgorilla not serious on scrim but serious on tournament, see what happen like now. it might applied to team that not always got high standing aswell. they might try to think what if they in this situation or stuff or trying to learn how opponent aswell. just to make sure startend only starting on this tournament, if they win, then thats really luck. since some comment said that kuzuha team eventhough he join many previous tournament, he didn't win. this time they win. all of people that join also put everything to it, not just all involve around startend. i know for the fact that aqua solo yes, they forgot that there also other solo player way before Aqua. after seeing like kuzuha team being scold by their coach like not to play around and do this and that, they also had to play after scrim offline. all of them try their best, i wasn't expect like siro place that stuff real fast. it really like wow and unexpected.

With the amount of Aqua "DOMINATING", "INSANE MECHANICS", "CLEAN THE LOBBY" clips, it's kinda overhype how goof Startend is as a team and I bet most of those clips's audiences don't even know about Apex or the JP Vtuber Apex community. So they endlessly downplayed other participant and hype Aqua up to cloud 9 to only saw the harsh truth that Startend is not that good compare to Kuzuha, Noah, Pakael's team

TBH the outcome should be already expected. Like its pretty crazy if they mange to win this tournament in their first try knowing that one is a play safe player, another is a mad dog solo player and a newbie. Even though they practice a lot, a players mindset will always change in their first tournament due to the difference of the atmosphere and I think it is pretty common. A person usually cannot bring their full potential in their first try on tournaments. The fact that they did well in scrims already shows that they are worthy enough to be a threat in the future that we might never see.

Thanks for the clip, even though this is the end of Startend (for now!), I've really enjoyed seeing the growth each of them had and that they have now become closer to one another more than ever. Honestly I think this team learnt a lot from this experience and even though they wouldn't be doing another Apex tournament, I'll be waiting for their future Startend collab. GG!

Thank you for the clip. It's quite an emotional end to the tournament for them, but I'm glad they were able to make a lot of fond memories together. While it is indeed frustrating that they couldn't secure a win, they really gave it their all out there. Thanks for all the hard work with capturing these moments, and looking forward to more clips. ^w^)

I think it speaks volumes of Suisei’s drive that she feels the most frustrated. Because even though everybody knew she was a rookie and didn’t expect much from her if anything at all, precisely because of that she seemed to nevertheless hold herself to a high standard because she didn’t want to be seen as dead weight. Towa has experience under her belt, Everybody knew how good Aqua was despite not having customs experience but Suisei really gave it her all to not only carry her own weight but to really go above and beyond for her teammates. And so while her improvement in the game in the span of just two months is amazing, i think the real impressive part about her was her mental game, despite being the one in the end to let her emotions out. Not only for herself but not to mention the fact that she constantly acted as the morale glue throughout this entire arc that kept the team together with her high energy and liveliness when the other two were feeling down about themselves and their results, constantly cracking jokes and making random discussion to take their mind off negative thoughts. All of them are amazing and worked so hard, but I personally think Suisei is the real MVP of the entire tournament. Even Astel recognized that her growth among everyone was the greatest.

suisei was always being the tough one to support her teammates since day 1 of startend. it taking its toll now. but i wonder why when i hear she sobs i just felt a chill down my spine. it happens again. her frustration in her school days when she lost in tetris and any puzzle games, when she lost the 1st marika tournament, those kind of frustration always gave birth to a monster. just look at her innk days, how much it pains her when her music projects got abandoned for nth times. and now she's one of the most successful singer in vtuber community. and apex now, huh? oh shid

Man. It was a roller coaster of emotions in the end. With Towa the leader. Aqua the ace. And the rising star herself Suisei. I’m sad they weren’t able to pull the dub, but I’m glad they had fun and were able to create great memories and deepen their friendship. That’s a first I’ve ever heard Suisei “cry” and damn. It kinda hurt. I hope they get to eat somewhere nice and enjoy their time. Love the three dearly and will continue to support them. 💙💜💙

I'm gonna miss these 3 being together so often. I'm not into shooters at all, I've been a gamer all my life but I just don't click with them so I obviously didn't know anything about Apex at all outside of what my friends told me when they play. But being able to watch Startend in my feed almost every day and watching their growth not only in gameplay but as a group was such a wholesome experience. You can see the evolution in the first days when Towa-sama and Sui-chan's extroverted personalities overwhelmed Aqu-tan's introverted one but by playing together, talking about a lot of stuff, getting to meet more and just having fun we were able to see Aqu-tan out of her shell and being comfortable which is something I never thought could happen. In the end even I, someone who isn't fond of FPS games at all was so into the matches and celebrating and screaming with them and all the fans together. Their chemistry is off the charts and I really hope we get to see more of that. It's so bittersweet to know that we're not gonna experience something like this anytime soon or maybe even at all and it sucks that they didn't win but in my opinion, after all these experiences and memories they already won even before the tournament. And we also won by being able to see all of that. What a ride this was... Startend forever!

the talk about a club is very good, in the end is realy something like that, maybe at school you work hard for months everyday at the same time and in the end you lose at the first/second round of a tournament. it's frustating but at the same time it was fun passing al the time trying to do your best

I played this certain timestamp in the stream from 3 perspective. Suisei perspective as you see she holding back her tears in the after talk her voice was low pitched. Aqua was low spirited and almost lost her emotion deppressed also sad its all over. Towa is TMT she knows these 2 cant bring them self so she act strong to push them, but her voice was cracked in the end a sign of tears or sadness to be exact being held back.

I was never really interested in streams of games like Apex, but seeing Aqua doing her solo master challenge, and then seeing her teaming up with Towa and Suisei, I just couldn’t miss it. It was so satisfying to see Aqua defeat her opponents. Then to see them play as a team, act goofy at certain times, follow their discussions between each match, it made you want to support them even more. Seeing the other teams praise them too, it made us proud of them and of course, we wanted to see them go as far as possible. But then again, the tournament was on a whole new level. Especially since, if I understood correctly, they participated with a size malus: the absence of coach. Nevertheless, they had their best moment during the tournament, that they grew out of it, that it was a real treat to follow them from the beginning to the end. They may not have been able to shine during this tournament but we don’t care, they shone for several weeks and if this tournament is their last, I’m sure it’s never that the beginning of the StartEnd adventure !

"I don't like to lose -- at anything -- yet I've grown most not from victories, but setbacks. If winning is God's reward, then losing is how he teaches us." - Serena Williams They may not have won the tournament, or even came close, but the experience they've shared together is much more important. It was an incredible journey and they stepped up well against some intense competition. Their efforts here will forever be remembered and we'll follow along should they decide to join together again for another game.

Considering that everyone seemed to take this just as seriously as they did with all the training and prep, I think they did quite well given their team's overall experience. There's a lot of people that simply LIVE in Apex so you're just not going to be able to reach their level realistically when they've got so much experience over you plus are also training just as hard to try and keep their competitive edge.

I have seen some people on other videos saying "Well atleast they got a pc!!" Wich is good, but for competitive people like Aqua and suisei, not being top placement or even winning is super frustrating, knowing you could have done better, knowing you could have trained and grinded a little bit more, A free Pc is good yeah, but sometimes the feeling is pretty hard on you, even more if its your first tournament, First tournaments are always scary no matter how good you are, but at the same time, it gives you a "reality" slap, and shows you wich things you can work on for the next one (if there is another one as Hal said this was the last APex tournament, probbably)

There's a reason they don't have a coach. They want this tournament to be a memory of them working and bonding together. And mission accomplished. They did their best during practice and scrim, everyone in the tournament knows how strong they are. They deserved that PC. Like Aqua said they did their best in the tournament it's no one fault. The other teams have a lot of experience. They're not like them who can practice and grind for 10 hours a day. I don't think dwelling on regret is good for them when they definitely not gonna enter another tournament. Might as well accept it (and the PC) and move on. Placement aside they did have fun together for the past few months that's important.

Thanks for your daily uploads. Sometimes I am aware of unexpected emotions when I watch Hololive. The iconic anime-look avatars make online communication easy and safe. It reinforces the entertainment nature of streaming, and we accept it as a kind of promise. Streamers also rely on that promise. The promise is that they are idols. There is no one behind the avatar. They can be intentionally missed in situations. holo-us mutually. It can be described as trust or a kind of complicity. Because the content is protected by such promises, we are moved by their unexpected emotional highs and human moments. The anime-look is at once easy to understand and difficult to comprehend. It is optimized for a specific intention and does not always faithfully represent emotions. This quality makes the emotional moment more dynamic. That's where we can feel their narrative outside of the entertainment intent. This overlaps with the narrative of idols, who are not pop stars, singers, or comedians, but rather human growth between identity and entertainment. The Goddess smiles on those whose promises are meaningless but not forgotten. Ontological Idol, Chapter 2: Complicity, Sneezing and Blessing Metaphysical YAGOO

As a person who has a lot of competitive experience I can relate on how they feel, especially Suisei. Towa's leadership is amazing, Aqua's competitiveness is inspireable, and Suisei despite being a novice, she did a good job playing this game and give her all. Loosing is sure makes you frustrated but at the same time it gives you a sense of relief. But I think this is the reason why playing a real game is a good thing. Although I don't play APEX I can sense the fondness that was form in these 3 build up as they practice and play tournaments. It really takes me back of what happened to my team, we put a lot of efforts to have a strong mentality. I believe what's fun about joining the competitive tournaments is that time you put together to get better, form a trust believe to those around you, and of course the sportsmanship. Loosing makes you frustrated and sad, but at the same time you gain something from it.

I can understand how those three feel. Playing sports. Losing a tournement because we weren't good enough. Or we made mistakes we shouldn't had. Even worse, we know how to win, we did what needed to be done, and we still lost. We suffer together. We struggle together. Then we won together. Once that happens, it's something you always remember. That feeling of accomplishment after all that hard work finally paid off.

The way Towa and Aqua tried to comfort Suisei's emotions while she's letting it out during the short silence before the whisper........ I'm not exaggerating about it but I'd cry real hard ngl. Imagine you gave your all in that one thing you wanted to win but ended up losing even after giving your all and all of your emotions starting to burst out then there's those words with more power than anything existing in this world........ I've been through that stage and i know how she feels. It's frustrating but the amount of experience she'll get from all of those scrims and tourney loses will prove how much she grew these past few days while preparing for V Saikyou.
