Hey Loc kings and queen! The starter loc stage is crazy right? You're locs is doing a lot of things you were not prepared for and toy may not understand why. That is ok and it's perfectly normal to feel what you are feeling love. Just be patient and enjoy the ride. I promise it'll be worth it.
.
.
When did I start my locs?
- June 20, 2017
How did I start my locs?
- Two Strand Twist
How many locs do I have?

How often do I retwist my locs?
- Every 6-8 weeks

Our hair is sacred, it naturally grows towards the divine. They'll eventually be too heavy and fall. I am a month in and started with an inch off hair. I am embracing the entire journey. Thanks for sharing, great informative video.

You are so right about the baby/teen stages. I’m 10 months loc’d now, and I love my hair. My hair looks and feels loc’d, even though they’re not totally mature. I’ve been fascinated since day one, just like with a newborn baby.

I started my locs 19 days ago. I love the way my hair looks. I already had shrinkage prior to starting my locs so I expected them to start shrinking even more. Shrinkage is a sign of your hair growing I had to learn that when I became natural for 15 years ago. I should have started this loc journey years ago, but I'm glad I did start it.

I'm one week into my finger coils. Quick story: I went in for Goddess Crochet locs but once my Loctician saw the areas of Alopecia, she recommended coils and then we'd reassess. I've had locs and Sister locs in the past and loved them, but with the Alopecia I decided to basically shave my head. But when it'd grown out to a couple of inches, I decided to go back to the Loc look. I am loving my coils, and will continue on and not do the crochet. Thank you for your video, because it confirmed for me that I actually did enjoy the full journey. I know I'll have some thin areas, but my other hair will fill and cover. Bless you Sis!❤🥰❤

I'll be a month in on the 15 and I've washed 3 times so far. It has help with the budding and tangling. I started and maintained my mom's and daughter's locs with marley hair years ago and through their journey and the amount of research I've been doing I am so ready for each stage. I'm definitely not interlocking my hair like I did theirs or palm rolling the length of my locs. Wild growth hair oil, rosewater, jojoba oil, neem oil, and castor oil butter will be my best friends. I finally got the right combo to combat the dryness this week. Great video! I think I'm gonna start a channel like my mom has been telling me to do for the pass 10 years because I can do hair, but I wasn't interested. However, I'm enjoying documenting my journey and watching these baby locs transform. 💙💜

My first loc journey was instant locs with a bit of extensions, I cut them off because I didn't want the extensions anymore, had a TWA for a year and a few months, then started my loc journey again in February with 2 strand twists. I'm currently 5 months in and the frizz is insane but I love it. My hair, however, couldn't hold a retwist for more than 2 days, so I recently decided to interlock, just to see if it'll be good for my baby locs. I don't think I'll have a retwist for the next 2 months because of interlocking. It's only been 5 months but sis, it has been one emotional rollercoaster, but I'm trusting the process and loving it

5 months is a beautiful stage. Your babies are start to loc more and more like locs but still doing their own thing 😂. I’m glad I could help.

I did not expect my hair to shrink 2-3 inches. It’s crazy the frizz does not bother me, since I understand the purpose of my hair looking frizzy. But BABY not having my BSL anymore 😞 I always took comfort in having a decent length of hair. With locs you don’t have the options to blow dry your hair to stretch the length or choose the length of your hair. My shrunken hair is now the length of my hair. I went from BSL to earlobe/ neck length. This journey humbled me to say the least

I never watch long videos! But you wasn’t so extra. Really just strictly to the point I’m only 1 month in and U got me scared because I literally have crotchets in right now. I’ll keep u updated sis. Cause the plan was to wear crotchets and wigs for about 3 months

3 months!!???!! Please keep me updated because that’s a pretty long time. I’m not 100% against weave over locs per day 😂 it’s just not my recommendation while your lovely’s are forming.
