I love the free parting too because they fall better. Also I was stressing about my parting too. When I was starting mine off, I felt like stressing about perfect parts took too much time so I just stopped caring. Lol. I love how my hair came out. I'm a little of a month into my journey

Thanks for the tips! I just started my loc journey yesterday and this really helps. I was worried about the ugly stage because my hair is very short but I will try to embrace it and enjoy my journey. I hope my locs are as beautiful as yours someday.

For the ones that’s unraveling in the middle of the loc I’ve seen some people use the lil crochet needle so u can avoid holes in your loc when it does mature

Congratulations on Your journey! Holes in the locs from not twisting them tight enough can be repaired by interlocking the edges of the empty spaces bringing together the edges until the hole is closed. If You pull through the middle the hole enlarges. Also you can repair holes with tiny crochet needle entering and exiting holes as the loc is turned. just spray the twist then give it a light palm roll . clip it so that it can set in place . it should help . i have the same issue with unraveling at the mid shaft of my twist 🥰

This is gonna be my 2nd time with locs and I learned a lot with my first set of locs that I started everything your saying is 100%true My first set was 2019 long hair ,maturing,locing etc going into 2020 I didn’t like how I was doing too much retwisting , manipulating the hair and just doing a lot of stuff I wasn’t suppose to be Soo I combed my locs out in august and cut my damaged natural hair so now I’ve been growing it out to the length that I want and I did my loc February 3rd 2021 and I always wanted to start my locs on healthy short hair in the first place now that I’m done with my soft curly natural hair I’m happy I’m going back to my locs there sooooo pretty to me especially with my hair texture I already know what to expect 🤍 it is now February 5th and the back of my hair and the middle of my hair are very full and there already starting to budd with only water and a lil oil 🤍

But thank you for the reassurance on not stressing over the parting. Mine aren’t perfect and I contemplated on redoing them with “perfect” parts but I’m keeping them 🥰

Using a crotchet hook can be good for unraveling if you want to look into it. I’m 4 months into my journey and it has worked for me, hope that helps!

I'm starting my locs I did 2 strand twist but thinking about going to salon to get them done professionally hope I like them once they done.

I started my two strand twist august 25, ours are definitely around the same time! I’m def gonna be following your journey since ours are so similar! There are many times where I want to give up because I feel like it’s not going to lock and it’s really frustrating.

The middle of my head is so thin and it looks so bad it's driving me CRAZY and making me want to take my locs down because they look dumb to me. And some are thicker than others and I feel like I should start over or just take them down altogether. I started them myself with two strand twists in March and I am starting to hate them
