STARTER MOTOR TRUCK OF DAMAGE CARBON BRUSH - Restoration Old Starter Motor
Hello, everyone! In this video, I'm going to show you how to repair a damaged starter motor.
The starter motor on this truck was damaged by carbon brushes. The brushes are what spin the fan that turns over the engine. The brush is made up of two wire-like pieces that come together in a plastic housing. The problem is that when these pieces get too far apart, they start to wear away at the commutator (the part of the brush that makes contact with the armature). This can happen if you use too much force when installing or removing the brushes or if you don't put them back in their proper place after servicing them.
When your starter motor wears out its brushes like this, it's not able to turn over your engine anymore. Luckily, it's not hard to fix! All you need is a replacement set of brushes and some time!
