Don’t worry about making the video shorter. I watched the entire video and when it got to the last part I started looking for the next instructional video. People are going to watch to learn. Like I did.

Sure thing! i pick and choose my jobs . most of our jobs can be done with 3 saws . all my top handle stihl saws and pole saws have the same 16 inch bar and chain on them . we use these saws to make the majority of our cuts . then we carry a medium to bigger saw with a 28-32 in bar and chain to made the bigger cuts . much easier to keep organized that way ..

Dope video! I started a small tree company in Florida the first thing I got was a STIHL 103 POLE SAW. I also got a manual pole saw for the palm trees. Thanks man!

Lots of great advice here. I do recommend looking at Echo chainsaws and power equipment. I used to think nothing was as good as Husqvarna or Stihl but I rank Echo right up there. As far a value for money spent they can’t be beat.

Stihl is hard to start, overpriced junk with barely any warranty. Any homeowner or arborist that thinks Stihl is better than Echo hasn't a clue about what they are talking about. Only time to consider Stihl is for their huge saws, like the ms880, because Echo doesn't make anything much beyond a 36 inch bar length.

I use a compact tractor. It’s not as fast as a skid steer but you don’t need fast equipment when you don’t have full time work in the off season etc. I climb myself because climber is too hard to find and the ones in this area are all on drugs etc. Big jobs are where the real money is. Keep it simple and your overhead low. It’s a really tough business to be in period

I like the tesla hat loll. I'm a tesla Fanboy . I am trying to start the tree/snow service I already calculate the cost of the most of basic stuff total 5k. ( van,2 chainsaws, snowblower and other pieces of equipment. What would you advise me to focus on ? the van is 3k of the budget after it's fixed, and the 2k is for equipment. what should i buy with the 2k? thanks for the advice in advance, great video. i'm doing small to medium tree.
@ROGERWALDMAN
@ROGERWALDMAN 3 жыл бұрын
AS FAR AS CHAIN SAWS I WOULD GET MY HANDS ON A STIHL POLE SAW . AN TELESCOPING ONE IF YOU CAN . A TOP HANDLE STIHL CHAIN SAW IF YOUR CLIMBING TREES. AND A BIG SAW . SKIP THE MEDIUM SAWS. I DONT LIKE HAVING 3 SIZES OF SAWS . JUST BIG OR SMALL. MAKES maintenance ALLOT EASIER. AND THAT WAY YOU ONLY NEED TWO SIZES OF CHAINS /FILES TO SHARPEN THEM. MS 391 IS WHAT I USE FOR ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU CAN PUT A 28 IN BAR ON IT AND DO 95 % OF ALL YOUR WORK. 599.99 NEW . IT MAY NOT CUT AS FAST AS A 661 BUT IS ALOT CHEAPER AND STILL GETS THE JOB DONE . BUY A GOOD ECHO BACKPACK BLOWER. THEY SEEM TO WORK GOOD AND START EASIER THAN MY NEW STIHL BLOWERS. SAVES ALOT OF TIME AND ENERGY RAKING . YOU STILL NEED TO RAKE BUT IT SPEED IT UP ALOT. THIS IS MORE THAN 2 K BUT YOU NEED THIS ITEMS TO BE efficient. THE TOP HANDLE SAW YOU CAN GET LATER IF YOU DONT CLIMB. HIRE CLIMBER THAT HAS HIS OWN SAWS AND GEAR. WHEN YOU GET MORE MONEY . BUY A BIG LOW EQUIPTMENT TRAILER THAT HAS LONG RAMPS THAT YOU CAN PUT TALL SIDES ON. AROUND A 6 TON IS GOOD. SEE IF YOU CAN FIND USED ONE . 8 LUG TIRES /RIMS NOT 6. 10 PLY TIRES OR BETTER. 16 FT LONG OR BIGGER. LATER PICK UP A SMALL USED DITCH WITCH SK 800 OR equivalent. GO TO A TEMP SERVICE /SIGN UPAS A CONTRACTOR . TELL THEM YOU NEED 1-3 GUYS TO HELP YOU PART TIME . YOU CAN GET 1 GUY TO HELP YOU DRAG BRUSH AND HELP YOU RAKE AND BLOW. CLEAN UP JOB SITES. STICK TO SMALL JOBS AND TREES CLOSE TO ROAD IF YOU CAN GET THEM. ONCE YOU GET A MACHINE YOU CAN DO BIGGER JOBS WITH LESS HELP. ONCE YOU GET A TRAILER AND A PLACE TO DUMP / STORE DEBRIS YOU CAN HIRE A LOADER TRUCK TO PICK UP ONE HUGE PILE AFTER YOU DUMP A FEW JOBS IN ONE PILE . ANYWAY . I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. START A KZfaq CHANNEL AND FILM EVERY PART OF THE PROCESS . POST ASAP. AN AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. GOOD LUCK ! ROGER WALDMAN , AKA TREE GOD ! MAN OF THE FORREST / FORREST WARDEN ..LOL

PUT A SAW IN IT ! BEFORE YOU LEAVE A SOLD JOB START THE JOB ASAP ! CARRY A POLE SAW AND OR TOP HANDLE . MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A FEW CUTS . THIS WILL LOCK IN THE JOB . GET A SIGNITURE AND A SMALL DEPOSITE IF POSSIBLE . THIS WAY YOU HAVE LEVERAGE IN CASE SOMEONE UNDER BIDS YOU AND TRYS TO STEEL YOUR JOB WHEN YOU CREW IS ON THE WAY . I KNOW IT SEEMS SILLY BUT I HAVE HAD PEOPLE DO THIS TO ME A FEW TIMES. ALSO BREAK THE JOB DOWN TO CUT / TRIM / GRIND AND HAUL / THIS WAY THEY CAN START THE JOB AND ADD ON WHAT THEY WANT AS THE JOB PROGRESSES . ONCE THEY SEE THE DEBRIS AND THE STUMP THEY MAY ADD THE HAUL OFF AND THE STUMP GRINDING TOWARD THE END OF THE JOB. THIS HELPS THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTAND THE COST OF THE JOB AND APPRECIATE THE LABOR INVOLVED IN EACH ASPECT ...
