Wow that engine is a credit to the man that owns it. Very well restored and cared for. In my old hometown Rockhampton there is a French Purrey Steam tram running on special days. It too is the only one in the world. Cheers mate

It's an amazing power plant, it looks like once it's running, you keep it running.

Looks a very reliable slow old slogger of an engine. Would likely provide all the heating as well for the boat..

He seems to be such a youngster to know how to operate it. Outstanding.

Tim Green so that's a real gearhead. Those ancient engines are so cool anyway.

That's cool. An old uncle of my grandma used to own a hot-bulb engine too, but after his death I lost the track of that old engine. Too bad I not just don't remember its brand, I also have no pictures of it that could help identifying...

Old danish fishingboat - Starting up a Hundested 39 hp hot bulb engine, with air-start system. Looks a lot like the one you have.

We have one that will run on just about anything including whale oil , kerosene #1or#2 , motor oil and even paraffin if it’s hot enough to flow.

The procedures were only done once because after it started it usually ran 24/7. Then it was just a matter of keeping it lubed, fueled and cool.

the exhaust from this thing must smell like hell
@chuckvan15683 жыл бұрын
Only if you don't like the smell of diesel. I remember a story about a diesel van that was driving across the US and they were fueling it with used cooking oil discarded at fast food restaurants. They claimed the exhaust smelled like French fries.

You can run it on vegetable oil or peanut oil or butter even, it can smell like nice
