Start with 2 mains on one side and four on the other. Then reverse and remove the starting clamp stringing the racket as normal. I don't get more than 2 mains ahead on either side.

I was using his older more popular video technique where he put the starting clamp on the 1st main. My string jobs came out great. This newer video technique he put the starting clamp on the 2nd main. I think the benefit is the floating clamps "avoid" each other. Not ever getting floating clamps close with each other. Great technique. I'm gonna string my Babolat Pure Strike today with this newer technique.... These are the best stringer KZfaq videos by far.

I shall try this technique on a badminton racket as my machine doesn’t have fixed clamps so I have to use floating clamps and I always use a starting clamp.

Just got a starting clamp and am gonna use this method right now. To start stringing on the side with the starting clamp would I pull tension on that string with the clamp still on it, remove the clamp and then put my other flying inside the frame opposite of the starting clamp? Or would I just clamp down with the flying clamps and then unclamp the starting clamp without tension? I think to be safe I will tension the string clamped by starting clamp again to maintain that tension.

Jeff I would not use this method. Instead I would place the starting clamp inside the frame with a leather pad to protect the frame and grommet on the second main. Then you can pull tension on the first main. You can see how I have the starting clamp set up in my recent videos on conserving string from a reel. If you have any question or comments let me know.

Hi there, big fan of ur channel. I wanna know, what is the difference between stringing without starting clamp and whether to start with starter clamp.? thanks

you forgot to show how to remove the starting clamp... how much tension is needed / correct? full tension, half tension, eye-ball it, let the tension bar drop freely? please help, I already broke/burst two strings.

Thats a nice machine, are you using floating clamps just to show us how to use them to start the mains? Or is there some benefit to using the floating clamps over your fixed clamps?

Joshua Levy just a demonstration of using flying clamps. I always otherwise use my fixed clamps.

Love-All-Tennis I love it. Best machine I’ve ever had.

At times, when I would remove the racquet from the Star 5, the dials on each end would seemingly become nearly impossible to undo, that open up the cradle supports. Overall best machine I ever had. Too bad I sold it. Now I guess I am going to re settle on your old set up, i.e Gamma 6004 with Wise 2086. I hope that the Gamma set up will work well enough for me! I miss my Star 5! Nate Bickel at Babolat, as well Von, were my contacts. I wish I could muster up another 5 grand for the Modular! I just can't. Really hoping 6004 and 2086 work for me. (***pins and needles hope so!)

Do you, in your humble opinion, feel that the 6004 w/ Wise, will be user friendly for me to string say 20-40 frames a month for a while? I plan to set up with the crank at tournaments etc. (At least where there is no power, clubhouse, etc)

My first string was an old Tremont and those were the clamps that came with it.

Love-All-Tennis 😍 yes I see I need to revise a lot of my videos. I would not use the starting clamp outside the frame now but inside.

How does that clamp hold tension with nothing underneath?
@Mr10sStringer
@Mr10sStringer 6 жыл бұрын
BG but there is something underneath. The starting clamp is held by the frame. After tensioning and clamping the left center main there will be some drawback as the clamp twists but that straightens as you tension the second .
