Join us on our adventure to turn our dreams into a reality with our 100+ year old farmhouse, and 20 acre property that has been neglected for over 30 years. This journey will see us renovate our home, and build a sustainable homestead from scratch.
Along with renovating our house, in our upcoming videos, we will be tearing down the old barn and rebuilding it from the foundation up. As well as setting up pastures, we will build animal shelters, as we prepare for animals to start coming to our homestead in the spring of 2023.
Check out our Facebook page, Fundy Acres, for more updates.

As a member of the former owners family, we are so excited to see this. So many happy memories fill your new home. Our grandmother was the matriarchy of our very close knit family and we know that her heart would be full right now to know that a new family is making so many great memories here. While watching this video It bought back so many visions. Having family softball games in that field after the haying was done, learning to fire a gun right were your target practice is now, playing hide n seek in the dark all over the property loving it but being scared as well lol. So many stories we could tell. Welcome to your new home, we are excited to watch the progress of it being brought back to the glory it once was ❤️

We can not wait to make many memories here as well. We welcome any stories, either via the comments or to our email FundyAcres@gmail.com. Part of us starting our new chapter here is understanding the history and keeping the legacy of family homesteading on the property. We appreciate your support!

hi just want to ask? where is the place to farm or self-sustaining farms in nova Scotia? we plan to move to nova Scotia but we don't have any idea where in nova Scotia. the idea is we can do homestead while one of us will work in a city or town as a medical personnel.

Sorry to be long-winded here but, honestly, there is no wrong place in Nova Scotia to settle down. It really depends on what you are looking for as a work/farm balance. A large portion of the province is farmland of some sort. If you are looking at being close to a hospital as medical personnel, then of course you would have less selection, but the farther you go outside bigger towns and city limits, the better chance you have of finding homesteads with larger parcels of land. But, almost every little town has a Doctor's office or walk-in clinic of sorts. With us, we are in a small community. We have basic necessities just down the road, but Truro is only 15 minutes away with anything we would want. Although, one of us does travel an hour each way into Halifax for work. I would suggest sorting out the work portion first, deciding your acceptable range for travel, and watch for real estate. I've seen self-sustaining homesteads on as little as 1 acre. Good Luck!

Absolutely ask as many questions as you like! ... But we are far from experts ourselves, so we probably do not have all the answers haha. However, yes. In our case, we purchased a property which hasn't been used for agriculture in quite some time. Also, the house needed some work. All these things cost a good chunk of money, even if you do the work yourself like we are; and much more money if you have to hire someone else to do it. It's also a constant learning curve, and with us, it seems like every time we turn around, something else needs work/fixing. So, in short, unless you have a good savings account or credit, I'd say You likely need that day job :/ We would be happy to discuss in detail if you would like. fundyacres@gmail.com or on Facebook, Instagram & TikTok @FundyAcres
