fun fact: the loot tables for suspicious sand and gravel are actually different depending on where they are located. in desert temples you might find more gems, but in trail you might find more homestead items

I went a whole 2 years without watching Gem and I feel so bad because I kinda forgot about her🥺I had introduced all my friends to her and one of them came up to me on a text message and told me Gem had started a new hardcore world so of course I HAD to come and see it, gosh, it feels so good to be back☺️

I just dug out my first. And its way more than I thought. I got 5 armor trim templates and a bunch of other stuff. Inventory and enderchest full. And it made so much fun!

LOVED this first episode. very nice and nostalgic. I might start a new world myself to see what happens! Also, side note, Stripped mangrove logs look really good with the new Cherry blossom planks! Can't wait to see this new series!!

@@claire7657 how far down did you have to go? I went down 5 extra layers and found nothing. The whole trail ruins was like 10 blocks total, only 2 suspicious gravel. It was pretty far from my base so i might end up cheating and finding it in a creative world copy to see if its worth traveling so far to go back lol

Im so glad that you started a new series in the summer, I couldnt watch much of the recent Empires SMP or Hermitcraft 9 because I was super busy with school. Thank you for making this new series, it made my day. I also am 13 and my parents don't want to buy a new console so I am still stuck on the Aquatic update with my PS3.

Hey Gem just wanna make sure you know that those archeology structures you found you are meant to leave the blocks and dig up the gravel then they will look like decaying buildings. Also I hope you and winne are safe from the wildfires but otherwise great vid glad to see you in hardcore again

@AmethystNight Omg that annoyed me to no end as well! As a history buff, it really makes me mad seeing historical structures get destroyed. Pixlriffs might give Gem a piece of his mind, I feel like.

Everyone has different play styles. As long as the person playing is having fun, I don't see an issue. I don't think you're "supposed" to bring an Ender dragon into the Overworld, but Doc did. 🤷🏼

I like how everyone else is hyped for treasure and all then we've got Gem overly ecstatic for Cherry blossom trees ... I know the feeling I'm more excited for a new tree as well.

The trees were basically the first thing I looked for 😅 the second is the sniffer eggs because even if the flowers are useless, they're still kind of cool. The third is going to be the camel.

It was the very first thing I did, I went looking for cherry blossoms, then went and found Sniffer eggs to get the beautiful torchflowers!

I'm so in love with the cherry wood. It's so fun to see someone else just as excited. Your starter house turned out so unbelievably adorable. Also, those geodes are so awesome!!! And man, tridents are no joke. I've died many a time in early game to sudden trident attacks. Never underestimate them. Those archaeology remnants are actually enormous underground. I spent a few hours excavating and packing up one and got several stacks of bricks as well as packed mud blocks. A very nice resource to find.

Just so you know, Gem, you can copy the Armor Trims, but it costs a lot of diamonds. With that one it's probably easier to just find more, but with some of the more rare ones you'll want to copy them before you use them.💖

The archeology in Minecraft is the opposite of a letdown. I had zero expectations yet the experience is so immersive and engaging. Felt like a kid creating scenarios in the backyard. You can’t understand it until you try it

You make this look so easy and I love that! I have learned so much from just this first episode. Using a brush to find pottery shards, how to use the shards and disassemble. the reason the air quality is so bad is because of forest fires in canada, the smoke is just blowing down over the border. i don't know where the forest fires are exactly though so it's possible canada is affected less. btw, the forest fires are only on the east coast, if gem is anywhere near here on the west coast there is no smoke to be seen ;)

@@luissuazo3684 i don't know if canada has any better policies on fire control than the us, most of the recent ones i've heard of have been in canada or on the border. true the colder air might help with the smoke a bit

@@luissuazo3684 Actually we have pretty lousy fire control, that's why Alberta just had to bring in over 200 South African firefighters to help. Poor forest management, poor logging practices (removing and not planting more native, fire retardant trees) added to climate change is making it rough. Oh and we retired the two huge water bombers we had back in 2008 and 2013, and opted with helicopter use instead, which is much inferior. Luckily for Gem, I believe she's in Newfoundland(?) which is not particularly affected by the fires and smoke yet.

Even without shaders all of Gems builds are awesome and so pretty! And Gems voice is really calming and I almost fell asleep😅 It is definitely more peaceful when it is just Gem in her own world 😊

Gemini, Berries are the only crop you can grow in the nether but you will need to bring dirt or moss to grow it on.

27:31 I know Im years late in commenting this. Here"s a tip for everyonr to make your building better and have more fun playing, "if you leave things broken, more stuff breaks around them' this goes for having messy things too. If gem left this to do for another day, it may have never gotten done (if she was playing single player). If you find yourself having big ugly messes in your game, it may pay to clean up as you go. Terraforming is of course a huge part of that.
