Hi Wonda. I have just received the offer from UBC. Thank you so much. Btw, I also received the research assistantship of 19k/year, I have to pay 9k5/year for tuition fee, so I have 9k5/year left. Can I survive in Vancouver with 9k5/year?

@@HungPham-ky2sz First off, congratulations on your admission offer and research assistant job. This is a loaded question because there are several factors to consider. What would take the chunk of that would be housing. What kind of housing are you looking for? Are you going to live on campus? if not, how far away? how much would you have to spend on transport? In general, the housing market in Vancouver has gotten even more expensive. I'm not sure what the case is for campus residence. With inflation, food items are also more expensive, and buying groceries and preparing your own meals is a better option compared to buying food all the time. Even with all that $800 a month is a stretch and in my opinion, it is not feasible. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I don't know whether I should submit my IELTS test score with my other documents like sop as soon as I start to apply online because I haven't found any infomation about when should I submit my ielts score so far. I only find " Please note that TOEFL and IELTS scores must be sent in via ETS transfer from the test centres directly. ". Looking forward to your reply!!!

@@marvinduck8471 Hi Marvin. I have no idea what sop is, sorry. I personally didn't have to submit my IELTS score or any other English language proficiency test because my previous institution's language of instruction was in English. This differs graduate program to graduate program. I did take IELTS to apply for PR. However I know this, for IELTS and other documents (transcripts e.t.c) that has to be sent to the school by a third party, you should do so immediately you have submitted your application. It's only then you will have an application number and they can identify you. It is typically all in once place, so without an application number, your file will get lost. You should contact your graduate program and ask them where you are supposed to send it to. You should email the IELTS centre you wrote your exam and ask them to send it to your school. There is a fee attached to this. You can't send it yourself. It has to be from the source, that way its authenticated as original. When you contact your program, they'll typically tell you how to address the envelope in detail. If they don't, ask. In my case, they particularly emphasised having my application number on my transcript. I know this is a long winded comment but I hope it helps. In any case, this is my experience, I would advise you send an email to your program. It's better to pester them with questions than to make a costly mistake.

I wasn't aware that the IELTS center could send my test score after the exam, but I know this now. I am going to apply for the M.A.Sc. in Electrical & Computer Engineering in UBC and some other similar programs of other schools in Canada. btw sop is short for statement of purpose and you mentioned this name in your video. :)

I’m happy it was helpful! Oh that’s not silly at all. I immediately started my paragraph, then introduced myself at the beginning of the second paragraph. The last sentence where I stated “I am open to an interview to discuss further regarding the enrolment to this program.” You can always add your email address or a phone number. I didn’t do this because my application already had my email address (in my account profile), so they could always contact me. Hope this helps
