In every state where they signed up to take part in the conspiracy. People do not understand the part they played. The fake elector slate was to be introduced after the insurrection, because Chuck Grassley was supposed to be presiding over the electoral vote count and he was supposed to use those fake elector ballots in the EC to justify voiding the electoral ballots entirely and sending the election to the US House. The day before on January 5th Pence had said he would not preside over the counting and that meant Grassley as Senate President Pro Tempore would have been in charge. You can see him on KZfaq the day before saying he was going to be presiding over the counting. That was the plan. In the House the way it works if the election is disputed and the House settles it according to the constitution, each state gets just one vote. There are at least 26 red states that would have voted for Trump and he would have won reelection in spite of losing the general election by more than 7 million votes, and losing the electoral college by 74 electors. They knew well in advance they could not win the popular vote, republicans have only won once since 1988, that was Bush Jr's second term. They knew they also were not going to win the electoral college, their own internal polling showed them as much. Then of course the election happened and they had a plan to overturn the 2020 election that involved insurrection and a refusal to transfer power. These electors with their bogus electoral votes were a key to that, by signing and swearing that they were official electors it gave a plausible reason for Grassley to say he did not have the authority to decide which votes were authentic and which were false. That had to be up to the House and they would decide the election. This happened once before in the closest election in US history, the Tilden/Hayes election in 1876. It was disputed but in that one Hayes got some southern state electors to change their votes for him by promising an early end to reconstruction. It worked and Hayes was elected, he ended reconstruction and that ushered in the Jim Crow Apartheid era that lasted till the 1950's and 60's. The only reason their plan did not work this time was that Pence decided at the last minute to preside over the count so Grassley could not put the plan in effect. Originally Pence had agreed to the plan, knew it was what Trump and his lawyers wanted to do but then got cold feet, Grassley on the other hand was a participant in the coup plot right up till Pence showed up in the senate chambers on January 6. This was why Trump told the insurrectionists to get Pence, make sure when the count was interrupted he did not return to the senate chamber. It is also why the Secret Service did everything to get Pence off the property short of physically abducting him. The Secret Service was and as far as I know still is loyal to the Orange Fat Assed Spy.

The fact Tony Evers is governor is just a bug in their gerrymandered minority rule, and they gutted all of his power before he even took office. Evers is basically a figurehead who's basically unable to do anything meaningful, while the legislature holds all the cards. It's abhorrent. I'm hoping that the maps get redrawn after the SCOWIS strikes down the current one, and puts an end to this authoritarian stranglehold the GOP has on our state.
