Glad it was useful for you. I can understand why it doesn't work for others, on campus my students have already analysed these trusses using method of joints in tutorial sessions. I also reinforce in class with many more tutorial problems, you have to get your hands dirty with mechanics.

Identifying the zero force members speed up the method of joints. My on-campus students do this problem in method of joints tutorials before we introduce this, so they already know that the members are zero force members.
