Hell yeah! That's one of the many things music has always been about, and I LOVE you for pointing this out to everyone! Allusions to allusions. Musical intertextuality, if you will. Everyone who criticized sampling and rap music generally back in the '80s and '90s completely failed to understand this. The evolution of an artform! Just like Mahler alluded to Frère Jacques in a funerary light (by transposing it to a minor key), the Beetles alluded to Beethoven so many times, John Williams, to Dvorak and Debussy, Benny Goodman to Yankee Doodle on Sing, Sing, Sing and so forth... this has been the essence of game recognizing game since waaaaay back in the day! +Mr8 +Mr8 The Album's still good hey, but its the logical evolution of artists when they get famous. Production (instrumentals) are too clean now according to me... That stardust sample is overused imho... Voices aren't as raw as it used to be, and the overall sounds very different. Just my opinion though...

I met Staik Selektah in the Versace store at the Lisbon airport. Dressed head to toe in gucci, really nice guy, couldn't have been more of a good sport. I asked him specifically about the intro, because it made me so curious. I asked how much of that intro was scripted. Statik told me something along the lines of "it was a staged phone call because it to show the Beats Pill because they paid for the video... but bronson eating bbq in his undewear? That was probably just the truth." 10/10
