We compare and contrast stationary (standing) waves with progressive waves. We use PhET's simulation (see below) so that you really get to see the differences and commonalities between these waves. The four aspects that we discuss in comparing these waves are (1) amplitude, (2) frequency, (3) phase difference and (4) energy.

If I take 3 pencils, a ruler and a sharpner and throw them all as far as I can, no matter what happens, these items will always be stationary.

If you confused about amplitude of both waves. Progressive wave amplitude is same for all partials because each particle in progressive wave can take turn oscillating to maximum displacement

Correct - that's why I wrote 'the same for all particles' for the amplitude of a progressive wave.

Do standing waves is condition to produce sound or sound may result from progressive wave

You can get progressive sound waves and standing waves of sound as well. If you are listening to music from a speaker, then the sound waves reaching your ears are progressive waves (they transfer energy). If you blow over a tube, you can create standing waves of sound. Does that answer your question?

@@mamdouhabdalmonam670 If you strike a table, the sound created is a progressive wave. To create standing waves of sound, you need some kind of 'tube', for example, musical instruments such as the flute.
