congrats queen!! does y’all’s schools add points for honors and APs?? like for example i have an 89 in ap physics but my school adds 7.5 points bc it’s an ap class

my APs had the more weight on my gpa than any other classes (i think abt 6.0?) but my honors classes also had weight --- im not sure if that answers your question or not... lmk!

Hi! I’m trying to apply to Emory and Vanderbilt, and I was wondering if I should submit my sat score of 1450 or just go test optional. What are your thoughts?

Congrats on your score! I was accepted to Vanderbilt (I'm not going though) and some of my friends are going to Emory. It's a personal decision on whether to submit your exam scores or not, but my advice would be, since there is so much competiton for a spot at these schools, to not submit an ACT/SAT score lower than the top 25-50% of exam scores submitted by applicants. You should be able to find this information on each school's undergraduate admissions page. Please don't get me wrong: 1450 is an amazing score. I personally went test optional for Vandy because my score (1410) was lower than the average SAT there. If you go test optional, your admissions officer won't take your SAT score into account. If you choose to submit, it becomes a factor of your application. I thought that I would have a better shot at getting in if I wasn't competing with the 1530+ SAT scoring students 😂 One of my friends going to Emory superscored around a 1500 on their SAT but I'm not sure if they went test optional or not. Again, the decision is fully up to you. Hope I could help!
