Proof yet again that in their day they were by far the best live band to ever grace a stage - awesome playing.

Saw them when I served in the Army in my hometown Örebro Sweden march 1978, one of the ultimate rocknroll experiences of my entire life. What a band, they really raised the roof on Örebro Sport Hall. They ended the concert with this amazing 45000 times song there as well. My tinnitus will never let me forget that evening when I had the luck to see the Frantic Four that amazing band Staus Quo. Praise the Lord that I had the opportunity to live in the same time as those guys.

God I miss this version of Quo, with Rick and Alan. Went to the Deeside Leisure Centre gig of this "End of the Road Tour". Alan clonked Francis on the nose with the end of his swinging guitar and got a real scowl off Francis! Where the hell has the intervening 39 years gone.... Love this song. Thanks for sharing.

This 1 song smashes many that people consider in the top 100 of all time, this performance alone is worthy of being up there, Quo fan or not! Just a high quality performance I've watched since I had the video aged 10 in 1985!
@robertjackson8199 Жыл бұрын
2023 and it is a phenomenal performance, Rossi said he showed Edwards And Rich this tape to show what quo was about. That tells us as fans the problem right there. Two session blokes that didn't have a clue. The feel and soul of quo is up on that stage right there. Kudos to Pete Kircher he smashed it, huge shoes to fill from Spud. Edwards never was gonna do the same, luckiest bloke in the world. Rossi shame on you.

Probably not pretentious enough for the US. They played as back up for ZZ Top a few times. I believe they showed them up . Possibly didn’t do them any favours. Doesn’t make sense.
@jamesw4895 Жыл бұрын
Alan Lancaster told me years ago that they supported Savoy Brown in the states and the Americans wanted them to have more of an image. Eg permed hair and satin flares. Quo were too working class for the yanks. The yanks wouldn't have got rossis cockney slang. They were too gritty.

when they get going at the 8.30 min mark they REALLY get going. I would be hard pressed to see and hear any other band perform at this level of intensity. Rossi and all of the band are absolutely on fire at this point. It is exhilarating to watch. What an incredible band they were. And how sad it ended here at Milton Keynes in 1984. They never, ever came close to the magic defined here. Even without John Coghlan they were an incredible band live. After 1984, well we all know where Rossi took the band. Such a shame it had to be this way. Their entire legacy is built on gigs such as this and music such as this not the Margie Time music Mr. Rossi so loved and pushed through under the Quo name. I saw them 40+ times up to this point. Never saw them again until the reunion gigs of 13 and 14 - now that was worth waiting for.

I felt sure this was Milton Keynes bowl, I was there and it was epic. Always loved 4500 times, this is Quo at their best. I only saw them 8 times, wish I had done more but hey what can you do. Still got all the vinyl I bought back then. I also had a VHS from the Milton Keynes gig for years, not had anything to play it on for so long it went to a charity shop, bloody wish I kept that now.
