@@petermcdonugh8426 As you know. they wanted to change their image in the early 1970s;s and, luckily,for me, they not only started "paying their dues" then but in my area of S E London/Surrey and I saw them times in 1972/73 and in one gig at The Croydon Greyhound with 3,000 others, all standing and they played 5 encores and the last encore was a 7 Part Medley with Johnny B.Goode etc:)

This song and not only this song of Status Quo is a great expression of pure joy of life. Smiling while singing makes me and other people smile and sing inside also. I feel a great pleasure and happiness by hearing songs like this... Like ABBA would say: „Thank you for the music!...“ 👏👏👏

When I was 4 years old in 1989, I asked santa claus for a cassette of "the man with the pony tail" Lo and behold, he brought me a Quo album. Still love them now, that album and others hold many memories. That said, I had never heard this track before now, Francis' voice sounds superb and a very good cover. Thanks for sharing!

St Pauli I know I state the obvious that Amazon do all Quo music and more and coverage is international... Same with eBay.... but like you say people have to have heard of them first to seek out their material.... Quo never really did make a big splash in the States for some unknown reason..? Yet the Stones and The Who and other British groups are very well known over there.. I suppose there must be popular American groups not that well known in Britain too... I only heard about the now defunct Jason and the Scorchers through a work colleague in the 90s... I like American country rock .. Journey and Thunderbirds to name but a few.. and of course The Eagles..

It's a pity they didn't have greater success in the States. This band should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
@Basman596 жыл бұрын
One does not need to be a success in the States to be recognised as one of the greatest rock bands ever, nor do they need the RRHF really how conceited are the yanks. The QUO have given millions a lifetime of great tunes and the global fans that follow em I think trumps (pardon the pun) anything the US could have provided and frankly its the States loss.

By the time "Don't Stop" came out Quo were well past their heyday and prime. When I heard "Don't Stop" I wanted it to be called "Please Stop"...but Quo still had a solid fan base, so they became a cover band and reverted back to where they started, as a good time holiday camp band. Who could blame em?👍👏
