Proton VPN. But if you have a lot of devices, Surfshark. Not sure if Surfshark has the same features on all of the different platforms ( I know it's different when ran from a router ) , but the Windows client has a thing where it can rotate the client IP every 5 minutes automatically. I've also tried ExpressVPN but wasn't particularly impressed; Prefer the speed that comes with WIreguard based services. TOR sounds great until you read up on it and find out that it was a government built thing. Not sure how much privacy there is in that. Worse, the speed is absolutely horrible. It's a great way to turn a 1G connection into a 1 Mbps connection.

There is also tor through the CLI or Carburetor as a Flatpak. They open a local proxy, but I havent figured out how to change NetworkManager to use that and block everything else. This is basically Orbot. Using Carburetor flatpak means you benefit from sandboxing.

Nice video! That would be like using a tor box that routes all your traffic but you do it directly from your computer. Downside is it is only that computer using tor, with a tor box, the entire network could be routed through tor. :)

I don’t know that Tor is compromised for the overwhelming majority of users , does that mean the government doesn’t have privileges that your typical cybersecurity specialist have, no. The government wants access to everything. If it was completely private, it wouldn’t exist.

i cant use tor proxys im not sure why this is i stoped nextdns but that did not work for me is there anything i can do to fix it also i have tor browser and it is working fine so i'm not sure as of what to do?

Questions on tor: How do we prevent and identify if our traffic is passing a tor exit node that is being used for spying? Do we traverse a tor exit node each time we visit a website site? How is the traffic routed when accessing onion websites?

Everyone considering using the Tor Network needs to know that The Tor Project, which provides the Tor network, was primarily funded by the US government, including agencies like the Naval Research Lab and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. This funding aimed to support a secure and anonymous internet experience for US intelligence agencies and military operations. With all the surveillance and censorship happening these days I would skip it.

Correct, they operate man in the middle attacks, and can shut down dark web operations like silk road. It's not secure, and probably has more surveillance than normal privacy methods.

If tor was compromised I think the open source community would have figured that out already.

@@shon254 and they have, with numerous talks from hacker conventions. The Tor guys themselves don't trust it. The government runs honey pot nodes, basically mitm attack. You use Tor if you're in China, not in the US.
