I love the movie and the song. Elvis worked o the move from October 8 to November 28, 1967. I heard they did use Native Americans in the film. Elvis respected the American Indian and had Cherokee Indian in his family. The movie is a comedy and every time I watch I get a tickle and feel happy. just young people having a fun time. There was a lot of sadness in the news at this time. a little comedy was refreshing. I’m sorry the movie wasn’t accepted more. I still think it’s great and loved the songs in it

I love this movie and all other movies which shows us Elvis in natural scenery like Love Me Tender, Flamming Star, Wild In The Country, Charro. In Stay Away Joe, he seems to really enjoy himself. This is just a fun and humerous commedy, without bad intentions toward native americans, quite the contrary. Thank you for letting us listen to this accapella version of the song! 😊💕

I love and own this crazy, wacky movie. The soundtrack is great and Elvis looks amazing. The film hired over 130 Native Americans to appear in various scenes as extras in this movie so I don't think they thought it was racist or insensitive. The late 60s is when people became very sensitive about offending others. It was/is a good thing or maybe we've taken it too far. But still I love this movie. Interesting subject and food for thought!

I like this movie, too. There are parts that go a little over the top. But then there are parts that stop you dead in your tracks. I agree that Elvis looks very cool, sexy, and happy. I can imagine him playing like this with his pals as a boy and teen. Come to think of it, I dare say that in every Elvis movie there are moments when he blows it out of the water. Your videos have improved greatly, and I love the attention paid to researching the details for each episode. Keep up the good work. To Elvis, we remember you Elvis, and we love you...still. (JudyC)

The magnificent voice of Elvis Presley. Sensational! Great work isolating his voice. This version is really good. One of the things that frustrated me was the order in which Elvis' music was released. He recorded some amazing songs around this period. Unfortunately, most were released under the Camden RCA budget label. They got it wrong!

Shame there wasn't a 45 EP for this film. RCA Australia issued one in the mid 80's, I bought it. Dominic was finally released too on OST CD in '95. Love the film, great ambience, a comedy on the way Indians lived in some parts, A similar film in many ways was 'Flap' 1970 with Anthony Quinn. Elvis had some connections with native Indians, Cherokee (maternal blood line), Kiowa (Flaming Star) and Navajo (Stay Away Joe).

"All I Needed Was the Rain" is one of those hidden gems. As for the movie, by today's standards you would not use white actors to play Native American roles; that wasn't the case back then. the most egregious example of this, based on a list I heard years ago, was John Wayne's portrayal of an Asian Genghis Khan. You do have to look at things in context, though any stereotypes that were exploited in "Stay Away, Joe" (a really poor name for a movie, IMHO; "Going Home" would have been better) were more the fault of the studio than of Elvis; he appeared to have no artistic input into these ventures, he was simply the talent and his presence was the sole marketing element.

Oh man, beautiful song. Um, as the movie it’s diabolical. And he’s not “tanned” - they tried to paint him as a native American!! Extremely painful to watch nowadays!!

It’s not one of his most interesting movies. In my opinion, but, I do enjoy how Elvis gets to act. And it is also interesting that they had his hair combed down. Also, I do like the songs in that movie. It was a good, grown-up movie, that did not make him look bad.

I saw this when it came out. Even at 10 years old I found it disrespectful to native culture. I watched the movie again last year and it made me cringe. I couldn’t even finish it. I believe that movies should be critiqued in the context of its time, but I can’t on this one. This movie came out when the American Indian Movement (AIM) was in full force. This movie’s plot perpetrated the image of Naive Americans being lazy and drunkards. It is unfortunate, as Elvis seemed be having a good time. That hadn’t happened for awhile. The man looked so handsome in this movie. It had some well know actors in it. Love Joan Blondell. I believe it could have been a fun movie if the movie had a different overall plot. Some of the subplots were fun. Quientine Dean was great in her role. I wish she had done more movies. She seemed to just disappear from the industry.

Ho acquistato con Amazon" Live a little Love a Little" , ""Stay Away Joe " e Trouble with girls" Si vedono e si sentono perfettamente. "Stay Away Joe" racconta di un toro omosessuale "Dominic" che si addormentava quando doveva darsi da fare con le femmine ma Joe Elvis capirà che Dominic ha anche delle qualità. Elvis era Dominic , Elvis era gay. In Italia i suoi film non sono arrivati perchè Elvis era troppo moderno per gli italiani che sono fascisti (anche quelli che dicono di essere di sinistra).
